9/06/20

Bay Area World Series 2020 (BAWS) - Uncommitted, ranked 196 in CA, 51st among RHP; Whip quick arm, 3-pitch mix, live stuff, feel of big two-plane CB, attacker & athlete ballplayer on mound,  in addition to FB that gets up to 89 & strikeout caliber CB (2595 max spin), his extension is among the furthest of any 2021 RHP.

3/03/20

vs Heritage HS - Uncommitted; Lean and lanky at 6-foot-2 175-pounds, Sharp didn't have a great day in terms of results, but he showed the arm speed, looseness and raw stuff that will have colleges checking in on him this spring and in the summertime. We took notice of him in the fall and at the preseason all-state event and with a fastball up to the mid-80s, with late life, he's got a shot to pitch with the fastball as he gets considerable arm side action and life. Curveball is big and wide and if he can tighten it up a bit and shape it just a bit smaller and get it to break later in the zone it's got a chance to be a real quality pitch. The change-up has arm side dive and flashes as an above average future pitch for him, certainly at this level and very well beyond. Kept composure during a rough outing (like most high school pitchers he had to pitch through some defensive lapses and some bouts of overthrowing) and overall is a junior who is rising among his class of pitchers.

1/25/20

NorCal Preseason All-State: Sharp was one of the standouts from our Top Prospects Games in the Fall and the projectable, squared up frame continues to add to strength to it and improving the overall profile. The loose, live arm works cleanly and easily through the 3/4 slot while the hips transition down the hill, bracing and keeping good direction to home. FB 83-86 MPH sinking arm side and setting up that late breaking CB and CHG. CB 69-70 with cross plate 10/4 shape having hard bite late at the plate; the pitch continues to show above-average future. CHG 77-78 used it mainly gloveside with some hard tumble on it; should be a solid 3rd pitch in near future. The prototypical pitchers frame, Sharp should be a guy that coaches are on because more velocity is coming and with his breaking ball could be a weekend regular at the next level.

10/13/19

PBR N CA Top Prospect Game - Max FB 85, FB 82-85, SL 67-69, CHG 71-74
Rangy, lanky but athletically proportioned, prototypical pitchers build at 6-foot-2 170-pounds, able to keep projecting with added strength. Attacked hitters going two innings striking out four and one walk. Arm is loose and whippy working long out of the glove and quickly through the 3/4 slot; body stays inline well and uses large stride to have ball jump through zone. FB 82-84 T85 expanding the plate and having swings through it. SLD 67-69 hard, slurvy break having late sweep. CHG 71-74 flashing late bottom. Stuff to project for next level. Competes with a gamer-type approach and seems to be a field rat.
