Athletically built 5-foot-10 160-pound lefthander with a good delivery, loose arm that works easily from a 3/4 slot, gets a lot of run on his fastball, showed ability to hold runners, maintained stuff with slide step, uses athleticism well on the mound to repeat his delivery.  Changeup was effective getting ground balls and also showed ability to use fastball to both sides of plate vs right-handed hitters, breaking ball had good shape and a quick change of direction. Velocity should steadily come as he gains physical maturity.

2/12/2020 @ San Mateo:Santerre started last week against Cabrillo going 5 strong innings without any runs given up, and showing upside with the stuff out of the bullpen in the game against San Mateo. The lanky 6-0, 190 frame has lean strength in the frame with wider, squared shoulders. The delivery is athletic with a high front knee coil seeing the hands lift a bit to the chest showing his back pockets to the hitter before using his hips well to hinge and glide down the hill. The front leg absorbs the body and creates some cross-fire action allowing the loose arm to work through the 3/4 slot; arm has some length out of the glove but is fluid and easy through it’s slot creating a tough read on the baseball. Santerre’s stuff is going to cause problems for LHH’s this season and his ability to start or come out of the pen gives him some flexibility. During the 2.2 innings he pitched with plus tempo consistently being in attack mode. FB 86-88 with natural cutting action and heaviness when staying armside; natural cut is tough for hitters on both sides to square up. SLD 74-76 with late depth in 1/7 shape; able to throw to both sides of the plate and late actions had hitters uncomfortable and getting big strikeouts (3K). CHG 74-75 wasn’t used much in the outing but showed some run off the FB look when needing it. I really liked the Slider in back-to-back looks and think there’s still some more upside in Santerre.
