9/14/19

Uncommitted 5-foot-10 165 pounds, medium frame, athletic, young body with projection remaining. He recorded a laser timed 60-yard dash of 6.96 seconds the fastest recorded on the day. He then went to the hitting portion where he recorded an exit velo of 76 MPH. When he took BP on the field he had an excellent round. Sprayed the ball all over the field. Has a compact line drive swing, very quiet approach, used the whole field and routinely squared the ball up. Flashes average arm strength, very athletic with loose hips and made accurate throws to the bag from the outfield registering a 77 mph position velocity. Had a quick release, strong first step and chance to continue to add strength to the frame. Will be a must see this spring as he continues to develop.

7/23/19

5-foot-10, 165-pounds, continues his steady development in the outfield where he showed off a strong, accurate arm (83 mph) that flashed hints of carry on throws that routinely were on the bag or one-hopped. Showed well during BP where he routinely squared balls up into the outfield. Got and kept barrel through the zone consistently and on plane. On the mound he showed consistent mechanics with good balance and a still head. Showed a three-pitch “Johnny High-School” pitch arsenal with a fastball with downward plane at 82-85 mph, conventional right-handed curveball at 71-73 mph and a change-up at 71-73 mph with arm-side run. Consistent mechanics with good balance and a still head.

1/05/19

SoCal Preseason All State (outfield) - Five-Foot 11, 165-pounds. Has a medium frame, young body. Started the day by testing in the top tier running a 6.75 60-yard dash. Giving him the 2nd best 60 of the day. Has quick feet and a medium stride, with natural speed. From the plate has a slightly open stance that is crouched, shows good use of lower-half. At times dips his back shoulder resulting flyballs. From the outfield has a shorter motion, with a ¾ arm angle. Registering an outfield velo (75) mph. Makes accurate throws average hands, good athletic footwork, and does a nice job getting behind the ball.

1/05/19

SoCal Preseason All-State - 5-foot-10, 165 pounds, two-way player with proportional build. Tall and fall pitching mechanics, releases the ball from a high three-quarter arm slot, repeats a consistent arm circle in the back, keeps shoulders level before releasing backside and toppling towards home plate. Lower half needs to be engaged more to create power and plane on fastball. Curveball showed sharp break and command from the same arm slot as the fastball. Change-up was inconsistent and raw. Strike thrower that would greatly benefit from lower half engagement.
