BAWS 2019 - Medium frame with wider shoulders showing some strength in the chest; lean lower half with tight waist (7.61). Chance for frame to have some more strength added to it. Defense was solid being able to read hops with clean glove work and a quick transition to his throwing hand; glove has a bit more push in the backhand but worked well going glove side. Arm is compact with quick handspeed out front and strength in the shoulder; chance for more as he matures (83 MPH). Played solid defense during the games with the ability to make plays in his range; 3rd base a possibility with his angles. Narrow stance with back foot turned towards the pitcher keeping hands wider even away from his body; hands have some bounce as he turns the front foot showing a bit of bat wrap. Really drives the back hip forward with ability to keep hands back; direct hands with compact barrel. Stayed to the pullside with some strength; flashed some carry (80 EV). Swang the bat well during the games with 2B to RCF and hard singles to RF staying on pitches and letting barrel work. One inning staying tall on mound with high front knee and hands having some down/up movement as hands have continuous lift breaking late. Stays online home with some athleticism in the delivery; compact 3/4 release dropping to a more mid-slot when wanting some more angle. FB 78-81 straight mainly gloveside; SLD 67-68 with short 10/4 slurvy action.
PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Full, medium frame with high waist and wide shoulders. Inline runner showing average stride length (7.84 60-yd). Balanced stance with hands at back shoulder and high back elbow keeping bat vertical; hands sit when gaining ground with stance. Level swing keeping hands tight to the body and creating leverage over stiff front leg; worked pullside of the field with line drives showing flashes of more gap power (89 exit velo). Smooth and under control in infield playing quick rather than fast and showing good footwork; glove works softly from ground up. Compact, mid-slot arm flashes more projected strength (76 MPH).
