Body: Physical build, with lots of strength in the lower half.
Hit: With a slightly open stance, hands setting above back shoulder. Leg kick produces a big move, hands drop into position to stay inside the baseball. Long through the baseball, and good kick with the barrel
Power: Max exit velo of 91 mph
Arm: OF Velo of 82 mph, gest on top of baseball easy and stays on line to bag
Defense: In a crouched position, attacks the ball early to get clean hop. Fields off the left side of the body.
Run: Ran a 7.45 (60 yard)
Delivery: Works from the stretch, high leg kick gets started with hands in rhythm. After the break of hands, the arm works out and around, to short arm position, quick arm speed.
FB: Max fastball at 79 mph, that will sneak up on hitters.
CB: Max velo at 62.42, gets pretty good depth and late break.
9/05/20
Bay Area World Series 2020 (BAWS) - Uncommitted; Three pitch mix, feel of the slider which stands out as his best pitch. The velo of the FB will have to tick up but his stuff does play up due to 6.2" avg extension. Given just a bit more velo and spin (to get more life & bite) and he could pop.
1/11/20
Central Valley Preseason ID: Max FB 76, FB 72-75, SL 59-62, CHG 68-69 Lean athletic streamlined 5-foot-11, 170-pounds, should continue to add size and strength as he physically matures. Good composure in this session, body works with rhythm, has a trained delivery and mechanically his lower body was functional. Little bit of an elbow takeaway out of the glove and has inverted wrist hook under the ball on the backside, which necessitates consistently good timing of his hands and feet to allow him to get uncoiled on backside. Slight cross body stride but good lower body stability, tall and fall from rubber and could develop more lower body power as he starts down the slope. Showed ability to throw strikes w/fastball and displayed some feel of a big tumbling, sweeping breaking ball. Change-up feel was present.
INF/BATTING
7.73 60yd, 68 INF, 82 EV
5-11, 170 long torso showing some strength in shoulders; still space to shape body as matures. Narrow, squatted stance with hands high away from body and relaxed elbows; big hand load pulling knob down and back on high front foot. Showed some balance in the back hip before gaining ground and creating some stretch; swing works upwards with high one-handed finish. Barrel showed flashes of quickness and ability to drive ball to pullside gap; can continue to work on keeping hands through inside of baseball as time where he lets barrel get away. Quick prep step showing ability to bounce to baseball; works high with the hips/glove as he works glove in circular motion. Hand stays high with a big scap load in throw showing some carry.
