2/11/2020 vs Delta: Zeglin got the start for San Mateo going 5.1 and giving up 1 run on 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 6 and kept Delta hitters off balance with his ability to throw strikes and go to his solidly average changeup when needing it. At 6-4, 205 Zeglin has a high waist and length in the lower half showing some athleticism in his ability to repeat his delivery. During the outing he pitched backwards having his FB play up because of it and showing the ability to control the top and bottom parts of the zone, expanding as needed. The delivery has a simple step to turn with lift and fall mechanics after a high front knee showing a big back leg over the shorter stride. The arm pulls the ball out towards second before having an abbreviated turn to it’s over the top release with a loose finish. FB 83-85 T87 darts through the zone using up and to both sides of the plate well during the outing. CHG 72-74 showing strong depth and great arm speed selling the pitch and getting easy ground balls; could manipulate to have more running tail when needing swing and miss. CB 69-70 short downer actions with continual break through 12/6 shape; feel wasn’t there and stuck to the CHG/Cutter more in outing. Cutter 78-81 short and flat staying off barrels.
