ACG Tryout - Krumins took direct routes to ground balls, having a very clean round of defensive work. He is very engaged in his lower body in all aspects of his game. His flat, quick stroke generates a low launch angle with many line drives. Ran a 7.11 second 60 yard dash and was 81 mph across the diamond.
Bay Area World Series Underclass (6/4/21-6/6/21)
Offensive notes: High back elbow, high hands with slight lift on foot. Sinks and sits on the back hip with direct hand path to the baseball. Handspeed shows up and when barrel worked behind the ball created hard barreled liners to the pullside. In game squared up a few right at defenders. Proportional strength and space for more in the frame as he matures. 60-yard - 7.37 / EV mph - 87
Defensive notes: Plays with wider hips while on-time through the baseball. Reads hops well knowing when to get it or wait back; hands are soft and consistent allowing strong arm to work. INF mph - 81
Positional Profile: SS
Body: 5-10, 160-pounds. Proportional, athletic build with high waist; strength in lower half.
Hit: RHH. Balanced stance, elbows flared, high hands. Sinks into back hip with knees coming together and hands having short flow into back shoulder. Good start and stop of the hips with firm front side. Compact swing, steeper into the zone staying level through the zone well. Deep On Plane and carries it through the zone well. Able to find consistent low liners through middle of the field.
Power: 87 max exit velocity
Arm: RH. INF - 76 mph. Longer arm out of glove with elbow staying high. Quick wrist and able to flick it out of hand. Projectable strength and actions
Defense: Active feet, rounds easily, fluid through the baseball. Wider base, flat back with ability to reach using the glove. Projectable.
Run: 7.55 runner in the 60
Positional Profile: SS/OF
Body: 5-10, 143-pounds. Trim lean body type, some strength in lower body, streamlined, well-proportioned.
Hit: RHH. Tall set, wide feet in square stance, hands set comfortably, small lift out to medium balanced stride, smooth load of hands to medium depth while creating tension/separation from lower half. Slight upward attack from below the pitch, lively swing, maintains balance, top hand involved a bit early while getting to two hand finish; 10.6 max rotational acceleration, 52% on plane efficiency, 44.4% fly balls.
Power: 85 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 21.3 max hand speed, 63.9 max bat speed.
Arm: RH. INF - 75 mph. Compact arm stroke, high-3/4 slot is able to drop lower when need be, can throw on move, ball exits hand well while displaying fair carry, generally took extra step(s) to get throw underway.
Defense: Athletic feet, keeps feet moving, comfortable on the move, soft hands, appears to be confident in the field, can work to get rid of ball quicker.
Run: 7.38 runner in the 60.
