3/26/18 Boras Classic - Uncommitted, though maybe not for long. Harvey is one of the top uncommited junior arms in the region and with his loose arm, long lean 6-foot-2 180-pound body and present day stuff, college and pro scouts took notice of him. He has a high-3/4 slot, whip-quick arm, wide shoulders and ample room to fill out. His backside arm action could smooth out and be in better control, which would give him better feel and action on his curveball. The fastball comes out good, real good at times, up to 89 mph and looking like it was easy effort. He maintained 84-85 mph stuff into the 7th inning which speaks to good durability and conditioning. As he fills out, the stuff is going to sit in the upper-80s and the peak velocity should spike above that. When he gets to a good knee lift and takes time to separate over rubber he looks free and easy. The struggles with fastball control came with a runner on 1st or 2nd when his lift got short and his timing was off. The curveball is a a work in progress, with big loopy shape but some spin. It was 66-69 mph so it will need to get more firm with better spin and bite.
