4/04/19

Pitched a shutout, threw 66 percent of his 102 pitches for strikes, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out eight. His fastball was 85-88, touching 89, and he was getting swings and misses on it up in the zone. The curveball was loopy with 11/5 shape and his slider had more 10/4 break at 75-76.

7/15/18 - Hliboki showed very well today as he showed an uptick in velocity from the last time I saw him the spring. His fastball worked 90-92 showing excellent command working to all quadrants in the zone. The question on Hliboki has been his command of his breaking ball and while he left one slider up, the rest were down in the zone and flashed good depth at 76-78 mph. The Vanderbilt commit made a very good case for being on the final roster.

4/11/18 - At 6-foot-3, 185 pounds, Hliboki has plenty of room to fill out and add strength. He's a strike thrower and his stuff should only get better with time. Against Santiago HS, CA, at the Boras Classic, the Vanderbilt recruit pitched in the high 80s, mixing a low-70s curveball with depth. He also flashed a slider at 79 with hard, lateral break. He pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out seven.

4/4/18 - Hliboki pitched in the high 80s, mixing in a low-70s curveball with depth. He also flashed a slider at 79. He pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out seven.

3/12/18 - Vanderbilt commit. 6-foot-3, 193-pound frame that is long, lean, athletic, and twitchy. Long limbs, high waist would indicate there is more growth to happen. Hliboki is widely considered one of the top right handed pitchers in his class and he reaffirmed that ranking on this day. The lanky righty was used a combination of pitches to keep opposing hitters off balance by working primarily off his fastball that say 86-88 mph and touched 91 mph several times. His changeup was virtually unhittable and showed a late diving action into righties. The pitch worked in the 81-83 mph range. Hliboki's curveball was not at his best we've seen, but it was serviceable topping at 72 mph. Hliboki's delivery has some moving parts, namely his whippy head action as he drives towards the plate. His high knee/leg lift and shoulder turn makes it hard to pick the ball up. He tends to fall off to the first base side but lands inline despite that. The arm is fast and works. It's easy to predict more velocity as his frame fills out.

11/10/19: The California native Hliboki dominated, striking out five of the six batters he faced with a plus slider at 77-80 mph and 89-90 mph fastball.
