vs Rodriguez HS - Uncommitted; Martin (1-for 3) is a very dynamic player and one of the team captains for the Panthers. He showed why in this look. He’s aggressive at the plate but shows plate discipline as well. He stands wide with some movement as he loads back to swing but keeps his head still and the bat remains on a flat path. That aggressiveness carried over to the basepaths where he stole second. He’s quick out of the box and is a solid runner (4.43). He didn’t get a chance to show off his arm during the game but he has a terrific one. Throws were accurate and had extra life.
5/31/19
BAWS 2019 - Medium frame showing athletic actions with some wiry strength throughout (6.89 60yd). Wide stance at the plate with even hands showing longer barrel that works with lift. Strong to the pullside from a flat bat path flashing some carry that way as well (83 EV). During games showed solid run times (4.36-4.5 H-1st) squaring up two balls to the pullside; showed his speed and athleticism stealing 2nd after reaching on an error. Defensively worked out in OF showing fair athletic actions and shuffle step. Compact arm with some effort keeping balls online with decent carry (85 MPH). Also played behind the plate where blocking/receiving were fair with pop times in game of 2.27-2.34; more athletic in OF allows arm to play up.
