BAWS 2019 - Long, XL frame that is very lean and lanky (7.61 60yd). From left-side, slightly opened, crouched stance utilizing foot turn as his even hands work back into shoulder; some bat wrap with hand movement making barrel be longer to contact with direct hands. Right side saw him have bat on path earlier with more batspeed and ability to lift to the gaps (80 EV). Showed good instincts on the base paths during the games taking third when a pitcher didn’t pay attention to him. Controlled feet at SS with shorter strides keeping high hips and wider base when fielding ball; compact wrist flick from his ear on throws across the diamond (78 MPH). On the mound showed hands going down and up with compact, quick knee from simple delivery with high glove side; limited usage of his legs. M-3/4 release having compact actions out of the glove allowing him to keep ball by ear. FB 73-75 straight to both sides of the plate. CHG 67-69 with some heaviness and dive through the zone; feel for the pitch with actions late. CB 61-63 loose and long with high loop before break in 11/5 shape.
4/05/19
At Bellarmine Uncommitted. Very lean, long frame with length in the legs. L/R profile at 3B with arm that’s playable there showing ability to flick the ball across the diamond. Compact swing with flat bat hitting hard grounders to both sides of the field. Came into the game late showing side-arm slot that runs getting two strikeouts. If he can add strength to the frame, possible for jumps.
