7/24/19

NCA Top Prospect ID - Physical and strong build on large, full frame; mature and gets to full speed quickly (7.40 60 yd). Tall posture with high hands and high back elbow; slight foot lift keeping weight in back hip as the knob gets tilted towards the catcher keeping balance through contact. Barrel works upwards through the zone quickly with strength in the hands/wrists; can drive the back hip and gets strong leverage on the baseball with tilted shoulders. Drove the ball deep into gaps and over the fence to pull side of the field; strength in frame comes out with natural lift in swing (91 EV). Strong footwork from the OF with good actions staying in line to bases; athletic for his size with ability to respond to the ball. Arm is compact and quick out front producing easy carry to the bags with strength in the arm; fits corner profile (85 MPH).

5/31/19

BAWS 2019 - Strong build in large wide frame; mature and physically imposing build (7.64 60yd). Narrow stance keeping a high back elbow; quick strong bat with ability to work on upwards path through the zone. Showed his raw strength regularly pulling balls with easy lift and ability to power balls over the LF fence (95 EV); when on time the ball explodes off his bat with easy leverage to drive balls flashing above average future power. Swings were controlled, yet aggressive during the games as he squared the ball up picking up a triple driving a ball over the RF head into deep RCF; just missed a couple more hits on loud outs deep into the OF. Showed ability to stay behind baseball with easy load moving well in RF; arm was compact and online flashing some carry (84 MPH). Has also played 1B and showed fair lateral range there as well. Bat will be carrying tool and his strength and raw power stand out.

5/07/19

vs Clayton Valley HS - Uncommitted player who has drawn college interest and with the thump and raw power he possesses as a right-handed hitter, he will stay on the radar all summer. He's a thick and physical hitter with very strong hands. He displayed his pullside raw power on a foul ball he hooked but he WAS able to drive the ball through the wind when most other players couldn't. There is some bigness and some stiffness in the swing but he did a good job of staying on the ball in this one for the most part. After that foul ball he cut the swing down and smoked one at the SS that resulted in an error that was forced by how hard he hit the ball. Later in the game he got a pitch away from him and flicked his hands at it and drove it into centerfield. What stood out was that it was generally an upper body swing and the ball jumped off his bat. If he gets his pitch or cheats and guesses right, he can hit a ball a long way. Classic mistake type hitter with plus raw power.

3/08/19

vs Foothill - Thrasher is uncommitted, but the Dons coaches spoke highly of the big first baseman. Thrasher has a big solid frame with a big lower half.Uses his legs well and is athletic for his size. At the plate has a smooth simple stroke with legit power. Hands stay quiet on his load and he has a small simple leg kick which he showed he has great timing with and stays back well. Thrasher does a great job of using his hands and allows the barrel to get out front and elevate the baseball which is essential for a guy like Thrasher. Showed his power blasting two home runs and showed the ability to hit a fastball with both home runs coming off of fastballs. Thrasher will be a guy to watch this spring and summer as he can make a name for himself and should get plenty of interest from college coaches if he continues to swing like he did.He will be a big part of the Dons lineup and should have a chance to drive in a ton of runs this season.

1/27/19

PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Large frame with width in chest showing strength and current muscles; big, physical kid with strength throughout and uses long stride length to gain ground (7.75 60-yd). Tall stance with slight bend of the knees showing high back elbow and even hands at back shoulder; quick knee tuck with simple, controlled load of hands directly back. Bat creates easy leverage with quick turns of the body to drive through contact; ball drives deep into gaps with pullside focus (94 exit velo). Slow and gathered as he approaches the ball letting downwards stab occur before quickly getting to ¾ release with extension; possibly more velo in arm when utilizing lower half successfully (83 MPH).

6/03/18

6/1/18-6/3/18 - BAWS 2018 - Strong sturdy build. Balanced stance with coil around back hip while using leg lift for timing. Low hands stay tight to body with compactness in the swing and quickness in hands that explode through the ball. Slightly below arm that plays up with compactness and accuracy to bases. Better runner underway and on field than initial burst out of box.

2/24/18

at Vacaville HS - Thick and compactly built 6-foot-1 200-pounder, playing 1st base for his team though primarily a corner outfielder, offensively is where he stands out the most at this time, has power that plays to the opposite field and his bat speed and strength will translate to college baseball, tends to drift with hips vs rotating and driving his back hip, forces him to push his hands through the ball and leaves the barrel dragging a bit, which is where the oppo part of his swing comes from. As he quiets his forward movement and lets the ball travel, his hand speed and strength with play more to all fields. Didn't appear very comfortable around the bag at 1st base, but battled and put in the effort to make plays.
