NCA Top Prospect ID -

FB 87-89 T90 (Multiple), CB 70, SLD 71-73, CHG 76-78
Simple delivery with deliberate high front leg lift keeping hands around the waist and allowing for momentum shift down the hill from back leg; controls momentum down the hill and lands consistently inline with firm lead leg allowing athletic hips to work fluidly. Live arm from compact H-3/4 release; consistency in release point allows all pitches to play up and create tough ability to for hitter to pick up pitches early. FB with strong arm side run; used on both sides of the plate building velocity up as bullpen went before finishing last few with consistent 90 MPH life at the plate. CB with 12/5 shape flashing as a plus pitch with late bite; pitch had off the table actions. SLD with more 3/4 break, but similarly to CB had late bite staying hard and tight through the zone; excellent feel of both breaking balls. CHG arm side heaviness; didn’t have the regular command of the pitch but flashes enough to be a consistent 3rd-to-4th pitch. One of the top pitchers in 2020 class here in Northern California.

6/02/19

BAWS 2019 - Crowley did just about everything on the field moving around from the 60 to OF work to INF work and showing off his athleticism and arm talent. The lean frame has the space for added strength showing quickness as he ran a 7.09 60-yd. In RF he let loose a very quick arm that was loose and accurate attacking the baseball (92 MPH); at SS he showed fluidity moving through the ball with fair glove skills and the arm strength to make every throw (92 MPH). From the left side at the plate he stayed balanced through contact showing a compact stroke to the pull side of the field. During the game he showed his live arm touching 90 late in the evening working 86-88 MPH through the two inning stint. The SLD (71-73 MPH) was tight with late actions flashing bite and using more off the plate while his CHG (78-80 MPH) had hard bottom and flashes of run. The control can continue to improve, but he ended up striking out 4 over the 2 innings. As he strengthens and continues to learn how to be a pitcher, Crowley will have a bright future on the mound

1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Large frame with length in the legs and a tight waist; projectable space in body with lean muscle in lower half. Quick feet with some crossing actions (7.33 60-yd). Tall stance with high back elbow keeping hands at the back shoulder; bat bounces on the shoulder with toe tap getting hands to work directly back. Swing is level with quickness attacking the middle of the field and pull side gap (78 exit velo). Clean, controlled footwork with ability to flash strong glove and range to both sides; middle infield actions and projects to stay there at the next level. Big arm that is quick and whippy from mid-¾ slot (87 MPH); able to make all throws and stay on left side of the diamond. Was a standout at multiple positions during event with ability to flash two-way abilities. Top 2020 to follow.

1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Streamlined long and lanky 6-foot-1 165-pounds, athletically wiry and somewhat twitchy with ample room to fill out the upper body, presently ranked #59 in state, competed as a two-way player, on mound has short lift of stride leg, loose arm with long backside arm action that is fairly deep, gets to a high-3/4 release, fast aggressive arm stroke, delivery starts slow and builds to a quick separation, good athleticism down slope with some cross-body stride, lands with strength and maintains stability for balance and leverage, fastball (T86) crisp and rounding into season form when velocity will jump a tick or two, lively through the zone with some riding arm side action at times, curveball (68-70 mph) with tight spin and sharp/quick downward 11/5 action and is capable of being an effective out-pitch, change-up is firm (74-77 mph) at times, flashed some down action on a couple of changes, seemed to rush it a bit in the stretch. Good early season form and should perform as one of the top 2020 pitchers in the region. Good athlete, including starting QB on section/regional/state winning football team.

8/25/18 - PBR N CA Underclass Games - Uncommitted as of this report. 6-foot-1, 165-pounds, lively body type, lean athletic wiry build, one of the top 2020 talents in Northern California. Standout two-way player though pitching is likely what is drawing most interest from colleges. Uncommitted. A top performer from the Underclass Trials, he didn't disappoint at the Underclass Games as he continues to show as one of the top 2020 talents in Northern California. Arm talent showed up once again, topping at 89 mph on the mound in game competition and reached 88 mph across the diamond in the defensive evaluations. Attacking/challenging approach on mound with good athleticism. Delivery has deliberate tempo at beginning then he explodes as his lead leg starts down after an abbreviated lift. Arm is fast and loose, high-3/4 slot, fastball is lively in the zone with late action. As good as the fastball was, his last pitch was a snap-dragon breaking ball that locked up a quality hitter. Throws the curveball with an aggressive arm action. Change-up appeared to be a BP fastball which was a nice change of pace of the upper-80s fastball. The more he gains control of his body and doesn't rush his stuff, the better he will be. Offensively and defensively he also has a shot, with a smooth left-handed swing with a fluid load and line drive approach, runs well underway and he's got that big arm, though he will lose some of that velocity across the diamond when he incorporates a natural and quicker release. In two at-bats he twice stayed in the middle of the field, including a hard line out to centerfield.
