Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; Average size build on average frame though with lean athletic body composition, talented all-around player with tools and skills to play beyond HS level, ran 6.96 60-yd, 80 mph max INF throw, competitive at plate though can work toward more consistent contact (went 2-for-5, 2 1B, 3 K, BB), there is bat speed and a little surprising pop given the modest size, 87.1 max EV, 21.1% sweet spot %, defensively showed range and playmaking ability, plays with confidence and looks to be poised for a contributing type season as a varsity junior in 2023 in the middle of the infield.
Positional Profile: 2B
Physical: 5-9, 150-pounds; Athletic, wiry build. 7.33 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; flat bat moving to upright position. Extended take back of the hands with a toe-tap for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with a finish around the back. More ground balls than line drives and fly balls with a peak exit velocity of 87 MPH via Trackman. Easy swing, contact oriented approach, solid base, stays within self and understands an approach that fits given his present size and strength.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep step while utilizing a quick first step. Hands are out in front with a seamless transfer. Short take back from a standard 3/4 arm slot. SS - 79 MPH. Sets up with sound footwork mechanics to create clean angles to the ball, soft hand, smooth from glove to hand to get ball under way quickly.
