5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed pitcher and infielder. On the mound, the fastball touched 78 mph, minimal arm side run. The spin pitch was displayed in variety, some in the 60's and he threw shorter spin pitches up to 72 mph. The changeup is 64-66 mph, minimal arm side fade to the pitch. Very good feel for pitching and deception, showcased extremely well for me. The arm is clean, slightly above 3/4 and the feet are online. Uses a hand pump as he gets into the pivot, and the lift is repeated. The glove side is soft and he uses a good tempo. Does occasionally quicken up the tempo to mix up his look, very deceptive and successful. Positionally, ran a 5.06 down the line on his dig to first base. The glove is solid in the infield, can improve the footwork through the ball during the approach. Threw  75 mph across the diamond with accuracy. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 78 mph. The setup is even in base, small amount of bat wrap to start. The path has a small amount of lift, needs to get the ball centered more at contact. The hands work well and he stayed in his legs.

5-foot-9, 155 pounds, thicker frame with shoulder slope, has some strength for a high school freshman with plenty of room for further physical development. Bae’s delivery has some violence in it, starting slowly before accelerating his actions rapidly with his leg kick. The arm works from a higher ¾ slot with some whippy action to it, creating some deception out of the windup. With all of the movement in the delivery, Bae at times struggled to repeat the mechanics and find his release point. This typically occurred when his arm fell behind the rest of his body, causing him to miss high and in on the arm side. Further repetition and coaching as he climbs the high school ladder should help his development on this front. Bae’s stride helps him get solid extension and he’s already tapping into his lower half. The fastball sits 72-75 mph with arm side movement. Bae worked in two separate breaking balls and a changeup. The curveball is his best pitch, showing 12/6 shape with sharp break between 58-61 mph. His slider comes in around 65-68 mph, showing two plane movement. It is more of a slurve than a pure slider, would do well to tighten the spin and throw for more horizontal movement to play off the curveball. The changeup is a work in progress at 64-65 mph. Shows consistency in the arm slot with some fade on the pitch, with refinement should grow into a show-me offering. Bae is a promising arm in the 2021 class, with an advanced feel for his breaking ball early in his high school career. Look for him to continue developing the rest of his arsenal as he matures.
