PROCASE 2021

6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher. The frame is thin as of now but should fill out well as he matures in age. He ran a 7.88 sixty at the event, as that will have to improve as he matures in age. The defensive skills are solid, throwing 76 mph down to second base with a pop time of 1.98. The transfer is clean and his throwing path is solid. The receiving needs to continue to improve as he matures and gets reps. The bat has an exit velocity of 92 mph. The setup is close with his feet and the front foot dives into the plate as the swing is produced. The path is uphill through contact and he uses a 1-handed release after contact with the baseball.

5-foot-11, 160-pound, average athletic frame, sloped shoulders, with room for added weight gains. A right-handed hitting catcher, showed well again at this event. At the plate, is very balanced, slightly open at shoulder width, hands are loose and held higher above the shoulders. On foot strike, hands drop down into a power loaded position. The swing is level to up, stays through the baseball, hands are inside, creating backspin to the gaps. Shows the ability to go opposite with easy effort. The exit velocity was clocked at 85 mph and ran a 7.69 sixty-yard dash. Defensively, the receiving and blocking is advanced,  strong hands on the catch, secures the pitch, moves very well behind the plate. Pitches look to be comfortable throwing to him. The arm action is clean, clocked at 70 mph, with a pop time of 1.96-2.08. The arm should add strength, feet are quick, with little wasted movement in transfer. Good looking catcher in the 2023 class.

5-foot-11, 160-pound, average athletic frame. Squared off shoulders, well proportioned, good strength for his age. A right-handed hitting catcher, showed very well on both sides of the field. Behind the plate, is super balanced, wider stance, slightly side saddled, the feet are quick, right foot replacing the left in transfer. The frontside is locked down, inline with second base, stays on target. The arm action is super clean, throwing from his ear. Throws are on a line with carry, clocked at 74 mph, and had a pop time of 2.06-2.16. All throws were on or close to the bag. During bullpens, sat back and received with ease, low to the ground, strong on the catch. Looks to really enjoy being back there. At the plate, taller stance, even feet, higher relaxed hands. The swing is down to level to up, finishing with two hands above the shoulders. The hands and barrel are inside the baseball with an all fields approach. Hard consistent contact in batting practice, with a tee exit velocity of 78 mph and ran a 7.60 sixty-yard dash. Will need to continue to add strength, will be one of the better players int he 2023 class.
