Vik Vakati: SS/RHP, (2022) out of Xavier, CT. is a lean, lanky 6-foot, 160-pound two-way prospect. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 90 MPH, with a (59.96 mph bat speed average) and (21.66 mph hand speed average). Vakati started in a balanced, open stance with the hands set just off the back shoulder. A small load and a closed, big leg kick initiates a slightly uphill path through a high finish. He found a lot of barrels, using a gap to gap approach. In the outfield, his throws to the bases were up to 85 MPH, while showing athletic feet, sure hands and a clean exchange. In the infield, his throws were up to 84 MPH, while showing he had soft hands, a clean exchange, and athletic footwork. He moves well laterally, fields the ball out front, using a loose, high ¾ slot. Vakati also displayed speed and athleticism at the event, recording a 60 time of 6.9. On the mound, he works out of a drop-and-drive, up-tempo delivery. The shoulders lean to the glove side before heading down the mound causing him to land open on his finish. His fastball sits 78-79 MPH (Max spin 1732; Avg 1615), with some arm side run. He also mixed in a sweeping curveball (66-67 MPH) (Max spin 1878; Avg 1734).

Lower half is under control using a larger leg kick. Gaining ground, hands have separation and are back on foot strike. The swing is level through the zone, more of a middle of the field approach. Batting practice created line drives, with an exit velocity of 83 mph, look for a significant jump at some point. An average runner, ran a 7.22 sixty-yard dash. Defensively, showed good actions, moves well to both sides, covering good ground. The glove was soft out front, comes through the baseball. The arm action is longer on the backside, works from a 3/4 slot, works free, can shorten over time. An athlete, good follow for next year.
