7/17/19

5-foot-10, 150-pound, with his wiry build it shows potential for a lot of mass to be gained. His delivery is simple, some deception to it, giving the hitters a hard time squaring him up. With a high ¾ arm slot and with his lower half coming around he has a good effect on right-handed hitters. He showed a mid FB sitting 79-82 mph, but showed two solid secondary pitches with his CH 71-76 mph and BB at 72-73 mph. From the stretch he is quick and looks to be more natural out of the stretch than delivery. There’s a lot of upside to Walker and could be a guy who could start earlier in the week and potentially end a game in closer role for weekend play.

6/19/19

5-foot-10, 150-pound right-handed pitcher and corner infielder. Ran a 7.47 sixty on the laser at the event. The glove is soft in the infield, needs to incorporate prep steps so the feet can become active during the process. Threw 78 mph across the diamond. The arm is clean and quick. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 81 mph, as the frame needs added strength. The setup is even in base, pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is uphill needs to flatten it out. On the mound, the fastball sat 80- 81, arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is 70 mph, correct in shape. The changeup is a developing pitch for him. The delivery is online with the feet and above 3/4 in slot. The direction of the top half spins off prior to getting to foot strike,. The arm is quick and clean.

Tee Exit Velocity- 81 mph
INF Velocity - 78 mph

3/06/19

5-foot-9, 142-pound, smaller, thin, wiry strong athletic frame. Shows to have good strength, has some twitchiness to him. A right-handed pitcher, hands start and stay in the midsection, back side is tall, glides down the mound. The separation is inline, good vision throughout, extension and squares up on release of the baseball. The arm action is clean on the backside, working out of a ¾ to high ¾ slot. Showed the ability to pound fastball to both sides of the plate, reaching 82 mph. The breaking pitch is more slider, clocked at 72-73 mph, late biting break, can be used as a swing and miss offering.  The change up continues to improve, fade and down action clocked at 69-72 mph. Looks to work quick with good tempo between pitches. Hold time was at 1.53, could shorten. Big sleeper for me, competes at a very high level.

8/19/18

5-foot-9, 140-pound right-handed pitcher. The fastball touched 82 mph, arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is a very good one, 73-76 mph slider, plus at times. The changeup is 73-74 mph, drops his hand on it and slows the arm down. The delivery is online with his feet, plus ¾ in slot. The arm is very loose and live, going to throw hard at some point down the road. The post foot needs to be in front of the rubber, angled on top of the rubber causes forward lean. The tracking is done properly and he gets through the ball well. Solid prospect at his age, good follow as he matures on the mound.

7/24/18

5-foot-9, 140-pound, smaller, thin, athletic frame, with room for added weight. A right-handed pitcher, the arm action is super clean, works out of a ¾ slot, pounded 3 pitches for strikes, punched out 5 hitters. The fastball sat at 79-80 mph, held the velo for three innings. The fastball lives at the bottom part of the zone, with action to the arm side. The changeup has plus action to it, with depth, clocked at 69-72 mph, sells it well with good arm speed. The breaking ball has velocity to it, clocked at 72 mph, tight spin, works 1/7. Times to the plate were at 1.25, works quicks, has a idea on how to hold runners on, knows his way around the mound. Look for the velocity to gain with added strength, one of the bigger sleepers in the state, will be a good one.

7/17/18

5-foot-9, 140-pound, smaller athletic frame, plenty of room to fill out, strength is a must. A right-handed pitcher, delivery is on time, balanced, stays over rubber, hands are set lower in the gather. The leg raise is smooth, separation is on time, direction is on target, lead glove has minimal pull to it. The arm action is clean and short on the backside, works out of a ¾ slot, gets good extension on release and is squared up. The fastball was clocked at 77-78 mph, good sink, lived in the bottom part of zone. The breaking pitch, has a chance to be a put away pitch at some point. Thrown hard at 71-74 mph, spin is tight with late depth to it. Showed feel for the change up as well, clocked at 70-72 mph. Times to the plate were quick at 1.13, holds runners well, showed good poise on the mound. Good follow, going to throw much harder at some point.
