7/15/20

6-foot-3, 198-pound, large, strong athletic frame, already filled out, showing plus strength throughout. A right-handed hitting two-way player who showed very well on both sides of the field. At the plate, wider even feet, hands are loose and relaxed at the shoulders. The approach is very simple and balanced, small pick up and put down with stride foot. The swing is flat through the zone with above average bat speed, recording an exit velocity of 96 mph, driving the baseball out of the park on multiple swings in batting practice. Runs well for a bigger kid, with a 7.35 sixty-yard dash. Off the mound, pounded the zone with a heavy two-pitch mix of fastballs and curveballs. The fastball reached 85 mph, arm working from a higher slot, longer arm action, creating bore action as it reaches the plate. Creating tons of swings and misses along with weak contact. The breaking pitch has velocity to it, clocked at 72 mph, added depth, more slurve action to it. Works around the bag well at 1st, feet are clean, soft hands on picks, can also bring more value being able to move to third. Big follow, will be a good one for at the college level.

6/19/19

6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed pitcher and infielder. Ran a 7.76 sixty on the laser at the event. The glove is soft and he works his hands well as the ball approaches. The feet have to improve and remain active during the fielding process. Threw 81 mph across the diamond. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 89 mph. The setup is wide in base, bottom half under control. The path is simple and strong to contact. The frame and leverage are excellent during the swing. On the mound, the fastball sat 80-81 mph, minimal arm side action to the pitch. The spin pitch is 68-70 mph, correct in shape. The changeup is 68-71 mph, minimal fade to the pitch. The delivery is online with the feet and above 3/4 in slot. The tracking comes offline prior to foot strike. The arm is clean and long, good follow.

6-foot-2, 180-pound, strong physical athletic frame, strength throughout, put together well. A right-handed hitting corner infielder, top tool is the bat, with serious power potential. At the plate, feet are even, wide base, with hands loose at the shoulders, bat starts in a flat position. The lower half is under control, simple, pick up and put down with stride foot. The swing is flat and strong through the zone, slight pull approach, makes hard solid contact. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 89 mph, with more in there as he continues to refine the swing. Ran a 7.29 sixty-yard dash, move swell for a large framed kid. Defensively, threw 81 across the diamond, plenty of carry and strength from the left-side of field. The hands are out front and works low to the ground on the catch. Moved well to glove side starting the double, arm shortened up with feel and flow. Showed correct steps on the backhand play. Off the mound, threw 80 mph out of a higher slot. Simple controlled delivery, repeats and threw a ton of strikes. The changeup has feel and fade to arm side, clocked at 72 mph. The breaking reached 70 mph, more slurve break to it. Potential to help out of the bullpen, projects for me more as a middle of the order hitter, chance to hit at the next level.

8/23/18

6-foot-, 170-pound, strong, athletic frame, already filling out, a well proportioned athlete. A right-handed hitting corner infielder, the bat is his top tool.  The stance is balanced throughout, feet are even and slightly wider than shoulder width. The hands are loose and relaxed at the shoulders, bat starts in a flat position on back shoulder. The lower half is under control, small pick up and put down with front foot, hands have a simple separation from the body. The swing is level through the zone, stays on it looks to drive it to all fields, finishes with a high one-handed follow through. The tee exit velocity is advanced for his age, clocked at 85 mph, hard, solid contact. Sixty-yard dash time was 8.15. Defensively, moves well in both directions, hands are very soft, fields out front, works from the ground up. The arm was clocked at 77 mph across the diamond, works from a high ¾ slot, has enough strength to stick on the left side. At first, the glove is soft, clean picks and gets off the bag quickly. Projects for me at either corner spot, will need to improve the straight line speed. Big follow, potential to really hit.
