Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Physical: Lean / projectable 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame with long levers throughout. 7.50 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: RHH. Bent, even stance at shoulder width as the weight shifts slightly favoring the backside, the hands started in front of the shoulder with loose, controlled wiggle back and forth. Utilized a quick toe tap stride in order to initiate the hands through a slightly uphill path with some length to it. Loves the pitch out over the plate to get the arms extended, the middle-in pitch can cause issues at times due to bat path, hit into a stiff front side with a moderate posture throughout the swing. High finish with above average intent in the box, stayed behind the ball well and peppered the baseball all over the diamond from line to line. Recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 86 mph per Trackman Baseball / 30 % line drive rate during batting practice. Defensively: The primary outfielder demonstrated long strides with control on the approach fielding off of the left side of his body with a soft glove hand, was able to range in either direction getting around the baseball with banana routes while holding momentum towards the target in the footwork. Accurate high ¾ slot with length on the takeaway. OF - 82 mph Pitching: RHP - Started from the middle of the rubber with a side rocker step with above average tempo into a medium leg lift (where he held a slight pause), worked downhill and pushed well off of a strong backside leg getting out directional towards the plate while landing athletically, fluid, high ¾ arm-slot on the release with a moderate arm circle. FB ranged from 76-79 mph with adequate command in the zone (40% zone rate per Trackman Baseball) and 1854 max spin which could hint at generating ground ball results at the plate .. Mixed in a 64-66 mph CB with 2040 max spin showing future out pitch ability; held 11/5 shape. Countered with a 69-70 mph CH while killing spin creating fade to the arm side on occasion.
