Physical: Athletic, lengthy 6-foot-2, 185lb frame with big time projection that translates over to gameplay. 6.90 runner in the 60-yard dash, long strides.
Offensively: RHH - Wide, balanced stance with a slight bend in the knees and low hands at the shoulder; short lift and replace stride initiating the hands through a slightly uphill path generating lift and leverage at the front of the plate. Stayed behind it well posting a 302 foot batted ball distance via Trackman Baseball, handling pitches out over the plate with great confidence. Notched a 55% fly ball rate and kept the ball off the ground during his batting practice round; a near 80% on-plane efficiency certainly plays to his benefit with continued, solid bat to ball skills at the plate.
Defensively: The primary outfielder displayed a downhill approach, fielding with accuracy off the left foot going through a clean exchange before releasing quickly from a moderate, high ¾ slot on the front side (78 mph arm, accurate). Able to go get the ball in space and track it down when hit over his head with a smooth dropstep technique, CF qualities down the road.
Maryland Preseason All-State Session II
Body: 6’2’’, 185 pounds. Athletic, physical frame with a power-speed profile offensively.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, slightly bent stance with the hands at a strong position at the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace stride while turning the barrel over the backside for launch, working through a slightly vertical path into the hitting zone. Generated a middle of the field approach with great success; notched a 50% line drive rate and 50% hard hit rate, both measurables which compared admirably to his peers. Present jump off the bat to the LCF gap when getting the hands extended at the plate (308 foot peak batted ball distance).
Power: 92 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Doubles power at the moment and can find XBH’s using above-average barrel awareness from line to line.
Arm: RH. OF - 80 mph. Athletic, high ¾ slot with a short arm circle and quickness. Accuracy was present towards the plate.
Defense: CF profile with a quick first step and low posture on the way through. Feel for his body in space with twitch in any direction, can cover good ground overall.
Run: 6.79 60-yard time.
