Cape Cod: Among the best non-P5 position player prospects in the country. He showed XBH production with eight doubles and four home runs, and good speed while patrolling center field for the Gatemen. Strong and athletic at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds, Boser hit just .219 this summer but showed an ability to impact the ball with wood. He has plenty of power with an average of 83.9 mph, good for eighth in the Cape and a max of 103.6 (ninth). However, his contact rate will be key this coming spring after posting a 30.7% strikeout rate this past spring before lowering a bit to 27% this summer. He’s also a versatile defender who can truly play almost anywhere, including center field where he’s a good enough runner to play there at the college level (4.22 down the line).
