8-5-2018: Strong, athletic frame at 6’3/205 pounds. Proportional build with chance to add some additional strength. Quick tempo to delivery with an aggressive finish. Drives off his back side and shows quick hip rotation. Short stride with some cross action. Arm works quickly and stays compact throughout throwing motion. High release. Actions are clean and repeatable. Front side leaks forward at times but should be correctable with his athleticism and overall body control. Ran the FB up to 94 mph and sat 91-93 during pitching showcase. Also mixed in curveball at 74-75 mph and a firm changeup at 87-88 mph. Didn’t have the best day commanding secondary pitches but there’s enough arm strength and control to make them average offerings. Put together a solid summer thru 26.2 IP. Opponents put up 34 hits on him but he’s racked up 32 strikeouts to only nine walks. Solesky isn’t far off from taking a big step forward on the mound for his junior season. (D Jurik)
