5/28/16- Miami commit who stands at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds with a strong, physical, and athletic body with great actions and instincts. He is ranked 5^th in Florida and 17^th overall. He has the frame that will likely force him over to third base eventually but he currently possesses the hands, footwork, and arm strength to play shortstop at a very high level. At the plate, Welker has proven to be arguably the top pure hitter in Florida and solidified that fact with his BP at FACA. He has an advanced approach with a short, quick swing and a nice plane through the zone. He really knows how to pull his hands inside the ball and stay gap to gap. Expect Welker to be a fairly high pick in next week’s draft.

3/4/16 - Miami recruit. 6-foot-2, 195 pound infielder. Put on a show with line drive missiles his first 2 at bats, then a long home run to left center field his last time up. Made a nice diving backhand play for a 6-4 putout in the last inning. Was facing a very good arm along with a very good North Broward Prep team. Very good baseball player. Plays with passion and knows how to play. Could become a high 2016 draft.

6/19/15 - Miami commit. 6-foot-2, 195 pound infielder with a strong athletic body. Good actions with soft hands. Moves well for a bigger guy. Plays shortstop but will outgrow it and move to third base eventually. Average ML arm. Quick bat with a good path. Stays inside ball well. Has solid average ML power to both gaps. Ran a 7.0 60.

3/11/15 - Miami commit. 6-foot-1, 190 pound infielder with a good baseball body. Good defender with an avg ML arm and a solid, projectable swing.  Not a runner, but does things instinctively.  Made a very nice back-handed play last night for quick throw for force out at 2B. Good baseball player with good feel for the game.

2/27/15 - Miami commit. 6-foot-2, 190 pounds infielder with a good sized frame and athletic body  with a strong lower half. He has quick/ light feet in the field and is very smooth. Soft hands with a quick transfer. Above average arm from short with some effort but he has a short arm action with accurate throws. At the plate he is slightly open with high hands. He doesn't have much of a load so his hands stay in the same place. Somewhat of a choppy swing. Average bat speed. Defense appeared to be ahead of the bat right now

12/7/14 SF Elite tryout - Athletic strong body with good infield actions and solid fielding mechanics. Shows plenty of arm to play left side of infield. Quick bat with some strength. More power to come. Average ML tools now
