Produced a fastball that came in at 87-89 mph and topped out at 90 mph; has control around the zone and hard action with heavy movement. (Max spin 2458; Avg 2294). 8/07/19
Very physical 6-foot-5, 225 pound right-hander. The fastball has a lot of heaviness and worked 80-84 mph with some downhill plane. He works slightly crossfire and uses the lower half well. Can cut himself off at times, but when he gets to extension the ball comes out of the hand well and the 74-76 mph slider has more depth, striking out two in two innings pitched. Overall, a ton of present strength that is still growing into and will be a follow going forward.
6/23/19
Strong and athletic frame at 6-foot-5, 225 pounds. Loose arm action with carry and accuracy on throws. Moves well around the base at 1st. Average hands with clean exchange and plays through the ball, footwork a little slow fielding. Balanced setup at the plate with smooth load back and bars coming through. Short stride and stays balanced on swing with above average bat speed with 90 exit velocity. Line drive hitter with level bat path and some pull side power.
2/14/19
6-foot-5, 230-pound first baseman and right-handed pitcher, extra-large frame, high waisted. Offensively, balanced setup, short stride, hands load back, maintains good balance through contact. Line drive type hitter, power potential, with more incorporation of lower half should tap into raw power, 87 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.47 laser-timed 60. Defensively, short arm action, high ¾ slot, accurate on throws, 81 mph across the diamond. On the mound works with a short arm action from a high ¾ slot, some arm looseness. Tall and fall delivery, works on-line, strides towards third, lands square, finishes walking down the mound. Fastball sat 80-81. Curveball, 12/6 shape, 69-73. Changeup, sinking action, 75-77.
8/20/17
Stands at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds on a large, strong frame. At the plate starts from a wide stance with a small leg kick for his load. Strength in his swing and when he is on time, can really square the ball up. Ball jumps off the bat and has an uphill path through the zone after contact. Power potential. On the mound has a simple windup with a big leg kick in his delivery. Fastball mostly sat in 76-78 mph range with some run while mixing in a 67-69 mph curveball and a 71-72 mph changeup. Lands in line most of the time, but occasionally can fall off to the third base side on his follow through. Strong, young player to follow as he continues to mature.
4/01/17
The big, strong right handed hitter has a chance to hit for some power. He has a feel for the barrel with strength. As he continues to grow into his body, he will really benefit from some additional rhythm in his pressing timing. The strength also shows up in the 76 mph exit velocity. On the mound, he lands in line, but could get down the mound more. He has a short arm action and commanded he fastball at 71-73 mph. Overall, he is a big strong kid who will have a lot of potential as he grows into his frame.
