5.24.17: Starnes has a lanky frame, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a lightning quick arm action and normal effort. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands square and falls off with some recoil at his finish. Fastball had heavy run and sat 86-88 in the first inning. By the fourth, he had tapered off to 82-84, touching 85. Slider was good and was 72-77, sharp 10/4 break. Arm works and there is more in the tank.
