03/20/17 - He struck out eight in his five innings of work and earned the win. The FSU recruit was mostly 89-91 mph with his fastball, touching 92 and 93 early along with a 73-74 mph curveball that showed some depth. Struggled with command at times, inconsistent landing on his delivery. Also displayed a quick pickoff move that kept runners close to the bag. Athletic frame. (IMG Classic)
10/16/16- Florida State recruit. 6-foot-2, 170 pounds with a lean, projectable build. Throws from an over the top arm slot and repeats well. Fastball sat 90-92 mph, touching 93 with some run. Curveball was 73-75 mph while also mixing in a changeup at 83-84 mph. He is athletic with some quick twitch. Struck out three in his two innings of work.
3/24/16- Florida State commit who stands at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds with a long, lean, athletic, and projectable body. Clean delivery that he repeats and he stays in line. Loose, high ¾ arm action and he gets some late arm side run on his fastball. Mostly sits in the 88-91 mph range. For the first two innings against Carrollwood Day School he sat 90-91 mph, then he was 88-90 in the 3rd and 4th innings, and the 5th and 6th innings he sat 87-89 mph. He also has an above average curveball that is tight and sharp and breaks two planes at 74-76 mph. 81 mph changeup that is solid average and he keeps down in the zone. Look for Ahearn to improve and add velocity with maturity and added strength.
10/23/15- Up to 91 in Jupiter with a clean delivery and good command.
6/14/15- Florida State commit. 6-foot-1 165 pounds with a lean, athletic, and projectable body. From the outfield he has a loose, over the top, and accurate arm. Average ML arm from the outfield. On the mound he has good balance, is under control, and mostly stays in line (can occasionally fly open). High ¾ arm slot. 86-89 mph FB. 69-71 slow CB that has good depth. 78 mph CHG that he keeps the same arm speed as his FB. Fills up the zone.
2/4/15 - Florida St commit. 6-foot-170 pound right hander with a medium sized, athletic, live body. Won’t be a big guy, but could be a quick-armed 601 right hander who has stuff and can pitch. Fastball was a crisp 85-88 mph tonight with an easy working arm and good feel for pitching. He’ll likely be in the low-90s by the time he’s a senior. Did not show a secondary pitch. Also swings the bat and runs well. Athletic kid.
