9/21/17- Perhaps the biggest standout on the weekend, the 6-foot-5, 200 pound right handed pitcher was very impressive. One of the few returners on the roster, he posted a 4.78 ERA in 32 innings while striking out 36. The stuff appears to have made a jump, with much more to come. He throws from a low 3/4 slot with a loose whippy arm. The fastball sat 90-92, with mostly 92s while touch 94 mph with late life and more to come with added innings. He also showed a sweeping slider at 78-80 mph that when he threw it harder had some late biting action. Also featured a curveball at 72 mph and a changeup at 77 mph with fading action. There is a huge upside and the frame can continue to add strength and will log plenty of innings and may make some huge jumps. From the teams in attendance, he clearly stood out as the best potential draft prospect early in the season.
8-20-2018: After two impressive seasons at Eastern Florida State College (JC), Keysor will suit up for the Hurricanes in 2019. The six-foot-six, 220 pound righty has a smooth delivery with clean arm action. Fastball sits 89-92 mph from a low three-quarter slot with easy effort. Flashes some run when working arm side. Also showed quality feel for changeup at 80-84 mph. Late fade and depth as it gets to the zone. Played exceptionally well off of FB on this particular outing. Punched out six hitters in three IP. Mixed in a slider during warm-ups but never had to use it during the game. (D Jurik)
