Uncommitted. 5-foot-8, 150 pounds. Although he was the youngest player on the field in this matchup, he was also one of the best players on the field. White has advanced actions in all facets of the game, and it’s only a matter of developing physically before he makes a big jump as a prospect. The first thing you notice is the cool, calm, collected nature about him. He was in multiple high pressure situations in this matchup. Not only did he act like he’d been there before, he consistently delivered in the big moments. His 2 RBI single shifted momentum on his 1st AB of the game, and he showed ability to manipulate the barrel (steepened launch angle with top hand late in swing path) on a low FB that you would typically see in an upperclassmen. The swing mechanics are extremely smooth and well sequenced, keeping the hands flowing in one compact spot with perfect separation timing that creates exceptional linear connection post landing. His ability to consistently be on time with his hip pace and repeat launch position at a high level allows the hands to continue their momentum and stretch, moving easily in & out of the hitting slot. But it's not just Dylan’s hitting mechanics that stand out, he’s just as smooth and natural defensively. The footwork, anticipation, ability to read hops with a subtle push & momentum thru ball, and exchange are very advanced. The arm strength is impressive for his size and he makes accurate throws. This is a serious follow who’s tools will tick up consistently as he gets stronger due to advanced actions and current athleticism.
