Georgia commit. Large, strong 6-3 205-pound frame. A good start to his senior campaign for Sutton, going 3 innings with 7 punch-outs in Allatoona’s 19-0 rout in their first game of the GDC tournament vs. St. Francis. Overpowered hitters at times with big FB while mixing in secondary offerings throughout. Short, clean arm action with a balanced delivery, eases into his drive leg before exploding down the mound with quick arm speed. Confident, athletic lower half, opens the hips and whips his arm around after a long stride to generate power. FB (89-91, T92) with strong run and heavy sink plays best at bottom of the zone, but can also locate well towards the top to get s/m there as well. Snaps off a gradual CB at 71-74, front door break, used at its best to LHH, needs strong location to land versus RHH but keeps all hitters off balance with such a stark drop in velocity. Tunnels a good CH at 83 off FB, similar action but can improve feel and confidence for pitch to make into a true s/m weapon. Also tallied two multi-hit efforts over his three games played, two-way potential at the next level.

Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 208-pound right-handed two-way prospect, projectable, lanky frame with strength throughout, good athlete for size. Power arm. Short, methodical draw on the back-side, whip-like arm, getting out front and downhill. Rear backed and blew his fastball by hitters, sat 88-92. Curveball, 71-75, 12/6, some sharp but did not need much.

Sutton took some of the best at-bats of the entire Future Games, and had balls screaming off his barrel throughout. The physical, 6-foot-3, 208-pounder has a more fluid load from the right side with impressive/noticeable lag through the zone that culminates in a loose, single-handed finish. Exit velocities in-game hovered near 100 mph, and the two-way player was comfortable hitting in all counts. On the mound, the big right-hander has a power arm, and should provide a 2-for-1 player to whichever program he ultimately commits to.

Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 208-pound right-handed two-way prospect, broad shoulders, projectable frame, strength throughout with much more on the way. Swings a big stick with power to all fields, Keeps it simple with a balanced setup, short, smooth load, heel lift stride. Strong hands whip the barrel through the zone, level path. On the mound, controlled draw and delivery, explodes through release. Loose arm, quick arm speed, comes out of a ¾ slot. Fastball sat 84-87, more in the tank, Curveball, 68, 12/6 shape, High upside two-way prospect.

6-foot-2, 185 pounds. Showed advanced stuff for age. Battled runners early in the outing. The long-limbed righty showed an athletic arm that works from an OT slot. Fastball sat 82-84, T85. CB at 70-72 showed large shape; shows promise in action. Cutter at 77 showed a different look and commanded the outer-half of the plate. Arm to follow.

6-foot-2 185-pounds.One of the top 2023’s in the state. Mature, athletic frame and plays the game way above his age. Has a plan, and executes at the plate. Picks the front foot up and down, and lets his hands do the work. Does not try to do much at the plate. Looks confident over at 3B. A high follow player for the spring.

One of the top ranked prospects in Georgia’s Class of 2023. Physically advanced for age, standing 6-foot-2, 170-pounds, will only continue to add strength and firm up frame as he matures. Starts in a balanced position with hands at ear level, hands load back with a barrel wrap, short stride, inverts stride leg foot before opening up with aggression, good balance. Barrel works mostly level through the zone, did flash an uphill path occasionally. Still developing his approach at the plate, at-times he looks to pull and elevate the ball with force, other times he shortened up and took a more gap-to-gap, line drive approach. Considerable raw power for his age, generates hard contact to all fields.

Our first position player only in the back half of the rankings slots in at No. 16, 3B/C Ethan Sutton (Allatoona). Sutton is a projectable 6-foot-2, 168-pound with plenty of room to fill out. He generates easy bat speed with wiry strength and loose hands. A consistent hitter, his loose hands and wiry strength generate hard contact as the barrel works long through zone creating line drive results.

Loose, athletic hands at the plate, generates easy bat speed. Path is flat and stays in the zone. Line-drive approach, made consistent hard contact throughout the JFG Identifier Tournament. Defensively, showed solid hands and arm strength at third base.
