5/25/23

Georgia Southern Commit. 6-foot, 165 pounds. If you know, you know. Every time he steps on the field, it’s the Jack Myers show. All rhyming aside, our love for him as a hitter is unmatched. I have not seen 1 hitter in the state of Georgia make as much contact at the plate. Not only is he one of the toughest bats to strike out, he’s one of the toughest players to get out period. What makes him so unique? His ability to hit good pitching, and that there’s zero drop off when he has a wood bat in his hands. Those are two of the most important traits needed to develop into an MLB player one day, and the rest of his skillset checks every box you could possibly think of as a hitter. Beyond elite pitch recognition, hip timing of release points, decision making underway, approach, high level swing mechanics, fearlessness, and composure to name a few. We feel he’s quite underrated as a defender, and a glove you can count on at multiple positions. Although he doesn’t have the “prototype” size you look for in a hitter, he has literally everything else. But don’t sleep on the strength, he’s one of the strongest players P4P in the class (405 deadlift). His ability to barrel the best of FB’s from any arm in the country puts him in some pretty incredible company statistically (97% ZCon per synergy in 2022), and I feel it will lead to considerable power production in college/pro ball. The swing is incredibly sequenced and the hands are so well connected Myers is able to manipulate and match plane with shocking ease. This is a hitter who puts nothing but effortless A swings on every pitch he likes, and it's very rare to see him off balance at the plate. We’ve been all in on the bat since the first extended look we got on him a year ago, and couldn’t be more confident in the future of his hit tool. In the field, you get very good arm strength (T87 on the mound!) for his size with smooth hands, quick exchange, and impressive instincts up the middle.

6-foot 160-pounds. Georgia Southern commit. A breakout Future Gamer in 2022 is continuing to prove why he is one of the best 2024 players in the state. Myers never seems to stop hitting. The lower half timing is going to keep him consistent at the plate for years to come. He has lowered his leg kick some, which I think will be a huge help as he faces higher velocity in the years to come. He drove in 2 runs on a 2 strike single to the left side for the lead. Positionally he could find himself anywhere on the infield, and with his hit tool they will find a place for him no matter what. He is athletic enough to He also hopped on the mound in the final innings and ran the FB up to 87.

2/21/23

Georgia Southern Commit. 6-foot, 165 pounds. There is nothing left to say that hasn’t already been said by PBR Georgia about “Mr. PBR.” That's why it’s great to just sit back and enjoy this hitting mastermind go to work. He spits on plus breaking balls like they are a joke, and knows exactly when to attack a pitcher based off their tendencies. He finds the barrel like no other in the class, and gets hits even when he doesn’t. Not only is he one of the best 0-0 hitters we’ve seen, he’s just as good of a 2 strike hitter. Jack has put on plenty of strength this winter, but still has much more room to grow physically. He will continue to be one of the most impactful bats in the country on a regular basis, and we’re only at the beginning of his impact on the game.
