9.9.18- an athletic SS/2B that can also double as a CF. Very fluid with the glove and advanced feet with good arm action and strength across the diamond (event high 79 mph IF velo). Can really defend and showed big time range. A quick twitch athlete. Offensively, he is a very patient hitter while showcasing a high leg approach that really creates pop off of the barrel with a very short, compact swing. Showed pop to all fields. Had some very loud AB’s during game play. A high ceiling playe

At 5-foot-11 and 165-pounds, Coleman is a fast twitch kid with wiry, sneaky strength. He is an fluid baseball player, that should be able to play all over the field if needed. I do think he has the ability to stick at shortstop, because of his excellent first step, plus range and hands. It is the kind of range that might run him into some errors early in his career. He plays under control and catches the ball well, but would like to see him play through the baseball more aggressively. I do however believe that he ability is in there. In terms of arm strength, Coleman showed well, posting 82 mph from both shortstop and the outfield. As a base runner Coleman is no doubt the aggressor and enjoys putting pressure on a defense. He shows anticipation and instincts for running the bags. At the plate Coleman has an athletic set-up with good feel for the bat-head. He uses a leg kick to get the bat going and he can get to big in his approach at times. But with added strength see him having plenty plenty gap to gap power. He showed an 84 mph velocity at this event and stung a couple balls in live game action. This is not a light middle infield bat, just one that is going to get better with added strength.
