Verbally commited to Illinois, Davis established himself as arguably the best defensive catcher in the state as the two-year standout threw out 60 percent of all runners this past spring while consistently registering 1.9 pop times. Beyond his defensive prowess, Davis showed that he is also one of the best offensive players in the class. He earned Prep Baseball Report second-team All-State honors after he hit .526 with seven home runs, 10 doubles and three triples. Davis also drove in 45 runs and scored 41 times. As a sophomore, he batted .422 with 8 home runs and seven doubles.
