7/10/18 - University of Illinois commit. 6-foot-4, 185-pound, long-limbed, highly-projectable, right-handed pitcher. Stock has been on the rise all summer long. Struck out one in his one-inning of work. Frame and arm action are highly-interesting. Arm is loose and whippy, out of a high ¾ slot; clean and one piece on the backside. Delivery is still raw but manages to repeat given his long-limbs. Slight drop and drive action, works on-line with regular effort throughout. Fastball comes out of his hand easy, slight arm-side action, life through the zone, sat 87-89 mph, touched 90. Curveball continues to be a work in progress, 11/5 action, slows arm at times, 71-72 mph. Also throws a splitter but did not see it in game. Pogue is just beginning to scratch the surface of his potential.
7.21.18 - Verbally committed to Illinois.
6.5.18 - 6-foot-4, 185-pound, long, lean, highly-projectable, right-handed pitcher. Continues to emerge as one of the top uncommitted 2019 arms in the state. Looks to be scratching the surface of his potential. Arm action projects; loose, whippy and quick out of a high ¾ slot. Delivery works with some rhythm, stays on-line, lands square with regular effort throughout. Fastball, jumps out of the hand, run and sink action, late life, thrown for strikes, sat 88-90 mph, touched 91. Curveball, 11/5 shape, feel, 73-74 mph. Splitter, inconsistent action, occasional tumble, 74 mph. Changeup, erratic command, 80-81 mph. High-follow 2019 right-handed pitcher.
4.26.18 - Currently ranked No. 68 in the Illinois’ 2019 class. 6-foot-4, 185-pound, long-limbed, right-handed pitcher with plenty of room for continued physical development. Young look, still coming into his body. Drop and drive delivery, works on-line, inconsistent and soft front side. Uninterrupted, clean arm swing; loose and whippy out of a high ¾ slot. Fastball comes out of his hand easy, creates run and sink, gets in on right-handed hitters at times and showed the ability to pitch to his glove side. Fastball sat 84-87 mph throughout, was sitting 86-87 in the sixth and final inning of his outing. Splitter is currently his best secondary pitch, tumbles, cuts it at times, occasional depth and showed feel, 77-80 mph. Flashed a few curveballs, 11/5 shape, firmer than we had seen in the past, 73 mph. High-upside 2019 right-handed pitcher.
2.11.18 - 6-foot-4, 175-pound right-handed pitcher, long slender build, lanky frame with long limbs. Simple rocker step into tall balance position, stays tall into squared closed toe landing, average repeatability. Arm action is loose and whippy, quick arm out of  high ¾ slot. Live fastball runs to arm side, 84-87 mph. Curveball rolls on 11/5 plane, near fastball arm speed, 67-69 mph. Splitter, action is inconsistent, flashes fade action, aggressive arm speed, 74-78 mph.
1.27.18 - 6-foot-4, 175-pound, long and lean, highly-projectable right-handed pitcher. Put himself on the map as a high-follow 2019 right-handed pitcher. Frame and arm action are highly projectable; extremely loose, whippy and quick arm action following foot strike. Delivery stays on-line, lands square, regular effort throughout and comes out of a high ¾ window. Fastball, late life, occasional heavy action, sat 84-87 mph. Curveball, 12/6, 11/5 shape, depth, sharp at times, 67-68 mph. Splitter, thrown for strikes, 73-75 mph.
6.7.17 - 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-handed hitting RHP/OF with a lanky frame. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a quick, loose arm action. Drop and drive, slow paced delivery with a closed toe landing. Fastball was straight at 80-82 topping out at 83 mph for strikes. Curveball has 12-6 shape with early breaking action at 68-70 mph. Slider has 10-4 shape at 74-75 mph. Interesting arm to follow, will continue to improve as he learns to repeat his delivery. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a leg lift stride and long swing path. 84 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.34. Defensively has a long, loose arm action from an over the top slot. Plays thru the ball with a clean exchange. Threw 85 mph from the outfield.
