4/25/19

One of the top unsigned seniors in the state of IL, ranked No. 43 in his class. 5-foot-11, 170-pound two-way player, chiseled and athletic frame. Played right field and hit third for the Tigers. Had two QAB’s finishing 2-for-4 with two 2Bs, two RBI and a run scored. Sat dead red on the heater and drove his two doubles to the left center gap, also made an out deep to right showing a gap-to-gap approach going with the pitch. Sets up open, short leg lift stride to even, bar load, maintains balance throughout. Path is direct and short, some bat strength and twitch in hands, athletic ability. Saw three balls on defense making plays in stride and in-rhythm, tracking skills are there. Arm grade is above average from the outfield, comes out easy and true. Translates to the mound as we’ve had him up to 92 mph in July last year. Super athletic prospect with upside two-way ability.

7/10/18 - 5-foot-11, 170-pound, quick-twitch, well-proportioned, right-handed pitcher. Rocker-step, linear delivery, lands slightly front-toe closed. Electric arm speed, short and compact arm action out of a high ¾ window. Erratic command in his one inning stint but stuff is dynamic. Fastball is explosive when in the zone, late life, works straight, sat 89-91 mph, touched 92. Curveball is thrown with aggression, struggled to throw for strikes, hard downer action 83 mph. Changeup worked 81 mph. One of the strongest arms in the 2019’ Illinois class.

4.12.18 - Currently ranked No. 31 in the Illinois’ 2019 class. 5-foot-10, 170-pound, two-way prospect with present strength; fast-twitch athlete. Right-handed pitcher, came out of the bullpen and continued to prove he is one of the top uncommitted 2019 arms in the state. Struck out four, allowed one hit and no runs in his two innings of work. Arm is clean and extremely quick from an over the top slot. Fastball jumps out of the hand and is lively through the hitting zone. Mostly straight action, spotty command at times but is electric when in the zone. In his first inning of work sat 89-92 and touched 93 once. Settled in at 86-91 mph in his second inning. Flashed a sharp, downer curveball with late break and occasional power action at times, sat 79-82 mph. Has potential closer type stuff at the next level. Also, hits in the three-hole and starts in center field. Right-handed hitter, with a quick bat and present bat strength. Starts open and relaxed in the box. Attacks the baseball and has the ability to use the whole field. Reached base in three of four plate appearances, with one being a sharp single to right-field. High-follow two-way prospect.

3.16.18 - 5-foot-10, 170-pound, two-way prospect with present strength and quick-twitch muscle. One of the top uncommitted junior’s in the state. Came out of the bullpen for Plainfield North and had to withstand multiple rain delays. In his first inning of work ran his fastball up to 91 mph multiple times. Mixed in a power type curveball with late, downer action that was up to 79 mph, inconsistent feel. Effort throughout delivery but arm works clean and extremely quick out front. Also, singled and scored in the game.

11.5.17 - 5-foot-10, 170-pound, two-way prospect with lean strength. Emerged at the Class of 2019 Showcase where he was up to 89 mph on the mound, 93 mph from the outfield and 100 mph exit velocity. Showed well once again on Sunday in all areas. Took one of the top rounds of batting practice at the camp. On the mound he touched 91 mph multiple times. There is still some rawness to his game but not many other 2019s possess the kind of skill set Kissel does.

10.15.17 - 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting OF/RHP with a strong, athletic frame. Kissel impressed on the day with his raw stat line including outfield velocity (93 mph), fastball velocity (89 mph), and exit velocity (100 mph). In the outfield has a long arm action from an over the top slot. Plays thru the ball with a clean exchange and quick footwork. Throws showed carry. At the plate open setup with a short stride back to even. Arm bar load with good balance. Fluid rhythm with a short level swing path and a fast bat. Ran the 60 at 7.16. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Wrap on the backside. Tall and fall delivery working in line with home plate. Square landing with smooth rhythm. Fastball sat 88-89 mph, worked mostly up in the zone. Curveball has 12-6 shape with short breaking action at 74-78 mph, flashed sharp action at times. Changeup has running action at 78-80 mph for strikes.

7.3.17 - 5-foot-9, 155-pound right-handed hitting outfielder with an athletic frame. At the plate hits from a tall, slightly open setup. Line drive approach at the plate. Features a strong arm from the outfield. Laced an RBI double to the wall in left field. Also added on two insurance runs with a two run single in the bottom of the 6th
