Cape Cod- Elliott has been, by a wide margin, the toughest out on the Cape, reaching base at a .483 clip (the second best OBP mark in the league a spacious 52 points behind) while also leading the league in batting average (.357). After a solid 2YR FR campaign – effectively his first full season with the Wolverines due to the COVID-shortened 2020 spring – Elliott has looked comfortable and confident performing amongst the top college talents this summer. A shift to center field with Hyannis has put his good reads and closing ability on full display while the above-average arm strength that helped land him in right field with Michigan continues to shine. On the basepaths, Elliott proved to be a heady and aggressive runner in my three game looks, able to capitalize on outfield bobbles and poor lines to the tune of three extra bases over that span. In the box, Elliott shows a disciplined approach that can border on passive at times, resulting in a good number of free passes but also allowing pitchers to jump ahead early. His hand-eye is excellent, though some length and coverage issues can lead to soft or empty contact, particularly when working behind in the count. He generally clocked 4.2 seconds to first base and could shave off some time with a more consistent finish to his swing and quicker exit from the box. Elliott's breakout summer should push his name up follow lists this offseason, setting him up to be one of the more closely monitored draft prospects in the Big Ten next spring.

Michigan commit. 6-foot, 165-pound right-handed throwing, left-handed hitting outfielder, wiry frame, oozes athletic upside. Dynamic player on all sides of the ball, we’ve seen him at shortstop in years past, projects more in center where he played on this day. Hit three hole for Barrington, went 1-for-3 with a double, 4.42 on the turn. Hustled down the line on a grounder to second, beat out the throw and the play was ruled as an error, 4.26 down the line. Short and direct to the baseball, loose hands with signs of quick twitch in his swing, present bat speed with rhythm through contact. Lined out to right as well showing a gap to gap approach, stayed on balls away. Went back on a ball over his head in the outfield, ranged back in rhythm, made catch in-stride.

7/10/18 - University of Michigan commit. 6-foot, 165-pound, left-handed hitting middle infielder, dynamic athlete. Plus foot speed, 6.50 runner in the 60, laser-timed. Defensively likely projects in the middle of the field, second base or centerfield type prospect. On the infield transfers the baseball cleanly and quick, showed ability to play through. Arm action is short and over the top, flashed carry, 84 mph across the diamond. Offensively hits from a balanced setup, loads hands back into slight arm bar, leg kick stride. Quick twitch hands, path is short and showed ability to spray the baseball to all fields in BP. Exit velocity topped 90 mph from a tee.

2017 Future Games (8.2.17) - 6-foot, 165-pound, left-handed hitting infielder. Highly-athletic, lean build, plenty of room to add strength. High-ceiling prospect, who is on the rise following the Future Games. Offensively, took some of the best and most consistent at-bats for Team Illinois throughout the weekend. Advanced knowledge of the strike zone, rarely chases out of the zone and sees the ball deep. Controls the barrel, quick hands, stays extremely short to the ball, creates bat speed and makes consistent hard contact. Gap-to-gap, spray approach, can handle the pitch away and doesn’t try to do too much. 88 mph exit velocity from a tee. Well above-average runner, ran a 6.71 laser-timed 60 on workout day and was 4.10 down-the-line on an infield hit in the final game of the weekend. Defensively, has the ability to play all over the field but played the majority of the time on the infield. On the infield, quick feet, ranges well to both sides and flashed soft hands. Throws clocked at 75 mph across the infield and 85 from the outfield. One of the top uncommitted 2019 position players in Illinois.

7.18.17 - 5-foot-11, 165-pound left-handed hitting shortstop with an projectable frame. Highly athletic. Plus runner running an event best 6.59 60-yard dash. At the plate hits from a wide base with a balanced setup. Short leg lift stride with a drop load. Line drive hitter working pull side and up the middle. Short path with fluid rhyth. 88 mph exit velocity from a tee.Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top slot. Lacked accuracy on throws. Quick footwork with a clean exchange, athletic actions, and soft hands. Threw 79 mph across the infield.

1.15.17 - 5-foot-11, 160-pound left-handed hitting SS/OF with an athletic frame. At the plate hits from a crouched, open stance. Short stride with fluid rhythm and an uphill swing path. 81 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 6.99. Defensively in the outfield has a short arm action from an over the top slot. Plays thru the ball with a clean exchange. Throws showed carry at 86 mph. On the infield, athletic actions, quick, fluid footwork, hands are soft and arm carries across the diamond; Clocked at 80 mph.

2.21.16 - 5-foot-11, 150-pound, athletically built, advanced left-handed hitting infielder. Flashed his speed tool running a 3.94 down the line. Offensively, fluid rhythm, loose hands, line-drive hitter and present bat speed; 80 mph exit velocity from a tee. Simple approach, balanced setup, smooth load, short bat path and excellent balance through contact. Defensively, athletic fielding position and steady hands on the infield. Accurate arm clocked at 77 mph across the diamond. Highly projectable 2019, should be a high follow moving forward.

1.17.16 - Athletic shape, projectable body, already shows some lean strength, 5-foot-10, 150-pound left-handed hitting middle infielder. Hits from a balanced stance, short stride, lower half works some. Simple approach with quick hands, uphill path, raw athlete. Defensively arm played at 74 mph across the diamond, short over the top slot occasionally carried, arm works from one slot. Lacked release on the move, feet worked with some quickness. 7.19 runner, well above average for his age. On the mound arm is short and firm, over the top slot. Tall and fall delivery, squared landing, upright finish. Fastball pitched at 71-73 mph, mostly stayed down. Curveball sat 60-63 mph, lacked action. Changeup is firm at 66-69 mph.
