6.13.13 - Athletic build at 5-foot-10, 165-pounds, shows advanced strength in lower half. One of the top athletes in Illinois’ Class of 2014. Defensively uses a long arm action across the diamond, high ¾ arm slot, showed accuracy at 77 mph, arm strength present, showed carry, deliberate exchange. Offensively hits from a balanced setup, showed bat speed, 82 mph exit velocity from the tee.

2/17/13 - Athletic build, 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame, shows strength. Plus foot speed, 6.64 runner. Defensively hands are soft, quick clean exchange. Arm shows some carry, 79 mph across infield. Offensively, hits from a balanced setup with a slightly open stance, uses short stride. Bat speed is present, 84 mph exit velocity, showed a pull side approach, barrel has whip, gets extension and shows pop to all fields. High level athlete who shows plus foot speed.
1/22/12 Buonavolanto is an athletic 5-foot-9, 160-pound middle infielder who ran one of the best 60 times of the event, 6.83.  Buonavolanto showed an accurate arm (75 mph) across the infield, making the deep 6-hole throw with ease.  He showed soft hands and quick instincts at the position.  At the plate, Buonavolanto exhibited some bat speed and whip through the zone.
Buonavolanto was one of the best athletes at the event, as he ran an event-best 7.02 60. Defensively, Buonavolanto exhibited quick actions in the field as he moved well laterally and was consistently in the right position to make the play. He displayed soft hands and an accurate arm (75mph) that will continue to develop as he does physically. Offensively, Buonavolanto has a short stride to the ball and uses his quick hands to spray line drives to all fields. In all, Buonavolanto is an impressive quick-twitch athlete who will be able to make adjustments as the game speeds up.
