6/20/12  Curtis is a very projectable 6-foot-5, 190-pound two way player who impressed in all facets of the game, garnering top prospect honors. In the outfield, Curtis moves with purpose to the ball with great body control, staying behind the ball and keeping is momentum toward his target, with accurate and throws (87 mph). At 1B, Curtis moves well around the bag, with good footwork, soft hands, and use his tall frame to stretch and catch balls thrown over his head and pick the low throws. At the plate, Curtis has a powerful swing that consistently squared up the ball produced hard line drives gap to gap. Curtis also impressed on the mound with the ability to throw four pitches fro strikes. Curtis had one of the top fastballs, topping at 86 mph with late arm side run. With his breaking pitches, Curtis’ curveball was 66-67 with sharp, late movement and his 72-73 mph slider showed hard, late two-plane break. He is showed feel for a 73-76 mph change up with some depth. Curtis is a versatile player who should be one of the top two way players in the Metro-East region. ...
Physical athlete tallied 36 RBI and 5 home runs as a sophomore. ... The 6-foot-5, 195-pound lean athlete performed as the top overall prospect at the event. Curtis displayed a strong arm from the OF (84 mph) with carry while playing aggressively though the ball. Curtis moved well and took good routes and was able to get behind the ball and use his body effectively on all throws. At the plate, Curtis continued to impress with a well balanced swing that will look to continue to add power as he develops. Curtis sprayed line drives to all fields and exhibited a strong lower half. On the mound, he showcased a 79-81 mph fastball while operating from an over the top arm slot.
