Uncommitted. Alexander had an impressive week going 9-for-11 with a double, four RBIS and two stolen bases. He helped the Eagles start off the season 3-0 with wins over Von Steuben (7-2), Holy Trinity (14-12) and Lincoln Park (3-2). In their win over Von Steuben he went a perfect 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. He had another perfect performance at the plate against Holy Trinity, going 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs, two runs scored and a walk.
C Ellis Alexander (Jones College Prep, 2025) is an uncommitted backstop from Sunday’s event that deserves a mention. He has a strong-bodied, 5-foot-10, 188-pound frame with round shoulders and strength throughout, durable catcher’s build. He has a noticeable motor, even in a showcase setting, and he caught our staff’s eye defensively throughout the day; receiving well in ‘pens and acting as an active/willing blocker, deadening the ball out front. He has a clean glove to hand transfer, working in-line to second to create a pop-time as low as 2.08 seconds. The right-handed hitter displayed strong hands at the plate, working with a flat path with intent to keep the ball on a line up the middle.
C/OF Ellis Alexander (Jones College Prep, 2025) turned some heads on Saturday with a strong all-around showing. Alexander is listed at 5-foot-10, 166-pounds with muscle attached and round shoulders, looking to have even more room for added physical development. The right-handed hitter is whippy through the zone with a line-drive approach, remaining on the barrel throughout his round of BP. Defensively, he showed quality receiving during ‘pens, presenting pitches in and around the zone with confidence while being a willing agile blocker on anything in the dirt. In the outfield, he’s an athletic mover with a bounce to his step, working with steady hands through the ball and reaching up to 80 mph from a crowhop.

Body: 5-10, 166-pounds. Lean frame with room for continued growth.
Hit: RHH. Wide setup, into a leg lift trigger, repeatable. Whippy through the zone with easy bat-speed, puts the ball on a line with authority, on the barrel.
Power: 83 max exit velocity, averaged 69 mph. 254’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 72 mph. OF - 80 mph. C: Short draw, into a high 3/4 slot with accuracy to the bag. OF: Long out of the glove into a 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.19-2.40 pop times. C: Sure handed receiver, quick transfer, gains ground, quick mover out of the crouch, soft blocker. OF: Athletic actions, bounce to his step, steady hands through the ball.
