2.15.15 - 6-foot, 175-pound left-handed two-way player, average frame, moves well, showed baseball actions. Offensively hits from the left side, balanced setup, leg kick trigger. Good bat speed, quick through the zone, slight uppercut swing, 91 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively uses a long loose arm action, high ¾ slot, accurate arm, soft hands that play well through it, solid outfield actions. Arm played at 81 mph from the outfield, high ¾ slot. 7.42 runner. Arm works similarly on the mound some effort from a tall and fall delivery, quick arm. Fastball sat 77-78 mph, showed some control. Curveball has 1/7 shape, gradual action, solid pitch that he dropped for strikes. Changeup sat 69-70 mph, feel for the zone.
8.6.14 - 6-foot-1, 170-pound left-handed hitting outfielder/left-handed pitcher impressed with explosive bat speed registering 89 mph exit velocity, tops at the Central Illinois Open.  Hits from a wide, open setup, utilizes a leg kick, gets extension with a high finish and line drives from gap-to-gap.  Defensively, threw 82 mph from long, loose, high ¾ to over-the-top arm slot with carry.  Showed average hands playing through the baseball and aggressively crow hops.  Ran a 7.05 60 and 4.50 seconds from home to first.  On the mound, fastball sat 78-81 mph from the same arm slot as in the outfield, with arm side run and above average arm speed.  Utilizes tall and fall delivery, uphill shoulders with front glove side elevated, stride direction stays in line with home plate, lands square with smooth rhythm throughout, glide steps from the stretch.  63-65 mph curveball backed up at times, shows feel for 65-69 mph changeup thrown for strikes with arm side run.  Butler is a prospect to follow closely over the next two years thanks to his athletic all-around game.

8/7/13 - 6-foot, 175-pound left handed two way player. Showed a high-level well-rounded game. Defensively feet worked well in the outfield, 7.2 runner, crow hop’s through the baseball. Over the top arm slot, long arm action, 79 mph arm strength from the outfield. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, slightly closed, smooth load, leg kick trigger. Showed bat speed through the zone, 86 mph exit velocity. Level path, showed extension, pull side approach. Butler looks to be a high follow in the Class of 2016 with left handed hitting potential and athleticism throughout his game. On the mound he displayed a loose, quick arm action from a high ¾ slot. Fastball had run at 76-79 mph with some control. Curveball worked on 11/5 plane, 63-64 mph. Changeup was 65-68 mph, occasionally dropped arm slot.
