5/09/22

Northwestern football commit, currently ranked No. 3 in Illinois, No. 55 in the country. Athletically built, 6-foot-2, 185-pounds, room for additional strength. One of the premier athletes on the field and QB1; impressed in the outfield and at the plate throughout the game. The left-handed hitter works with a simple smooth stroke, hands stay short to the ball with a whole-field approach. In the outfield, Lausch impressed with good reads off the bat, athletic first step and efficient angles on balls, covering ground easily; pairing with a strong arm that plays with life and carry to his target.

5/02/22

Ranked No. 3 in the state and No. 54 in the country, Lausch continues to prove he is a top prospect. Lausch put on a show on both sides of the baseball. Defensively, Lausch made two game defining plays. In the fifth inning down one run, Lausch took away a home run to deep center field to end the inning and keep his team within in. Top half of the seventh with two runners in scoring position, Lausch made a game winning diving catch to end the game. Offensively, Lausch was 2-for-3 with a double off a slider in the first and a sharply hit single through the 5-6 hole in the fifth.

4/16/22

In a matchup against No. 14 ranked 2022 prospect RHP Jake Swartz (University HS, IL) the dual sport athlete impressed in every facet of the game, combining tools with performance. At the plate he has a polished approach with good balance, a compact swing and super quick hands. After producing loud contact on a line out to center field in his first at-bat, Lausch squared another, this one deep to center for a triple in his second at-bat. The Northwestern signee for football (QB) and baseball showed at least average tools across the board with plus speed, above average arm strength, strong defense and pop in his bat.

6/19/21

Verbally committed to play football and baseball at Notre Dame.

5/05/21

Uncommitted, ranked No. 7 in the Illinois 2022 class. Top uncommitted player in the state. Highly-athletic, 6-foot-2, 185 pound left-handed hitting outfielder. One of the best athletes in the state; also a high-level QB1 prospect in football. Offensively has a professional approach; mature presence in the box, starts in an athletic stance, toe-tap into a short stride to keep himself in rhythm. Lighting-quick hands, short path, hands work on top of the baseball. Ball jumps off his bat with backspin. Showed power to the pull-side with a towering homerun. Above average zone-awareness and pitch recognition. Aggressive on the basepaths, always looking to take the extra base with quality jumps and reads off the pitcher. Defensively, profiles in center field. Quick first step, proper angles and routes, covered a lot of ground and was able to consistently cut off balls in the gap. Arm played above average in IO with strong/accurate throws to all bases. High-level 2022 prospect.

9/13/20

6-foot-2, 185-pound, highly-athletic, broad-shouldered, left-handed hitting center fielder. One of the top uncommitted 2022s in the Midwest. Also, a high-level quarterback with the potential to play both sports at the next level. Top-of-the-order profile. Twitchy, quick hands, creates advanced bat speed and jump off the barrel. Short and direct to the ball with potential for pull-side power down the road. Had a tough weekend, results wise, but easy to dream on the left-handed swing. Elite athleticism translates naturally to center field. Advanced instincts, quick first step, covers ground with ease. High-level centerfielder. Game-changing potential in all facets of the game. Oozes athleticism and projection. Has emerged over the summer and fall as one of the top position players in the state.
