As one of the state’s top right-handed hitters, Brodner has an advanced hitting approach, using his quick hands and fluid swing to deliver a stellar junior campaign. Brodner led the North Stars in most offensive categories, including 9 homers, 10 doubles, 45 RBI, 30 runs while batting .434. Defensively, he has impressive arm strength (88 mph at a PBR event). ... The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Brodner was arguably the best overall hitter at the event. Brodner has an easy and balanced approach at the plate. He stays loose throughout before he initiates a short, compact and explosive swing through the zone. He squared up balls to both power alleys, remaining balanced and under control through contact. Defensively, Brodner showed arm strength (85 across infield) and solid fundamental footwork. He plays through the ball well, and fields the ball with confidence and purpose. Brodner ran a 7.31 60. The strong 6-foot-1, 180-pound infielder was one of the top hitters at the event. He has an advanced plate approach, using a quiet setup and an aggressive lower half to hammer balls to all fields. He displayed excellent bat control and hand looseness at the plate. He stays balanced throughout, and gets excellent extension through contact. Defensively, he continued to impress with his arm strength (86 mph) across the field with accuracy. Brodner moved well, showing good actions and a soft backhand while moving through the ball. He also ran a 7.43 60. Made big impact on varsity with bat and all-around play. The 6-foot, 165-pound Brodner possesses a lot of natural ability. He showed a strong arm across the infield (81 mph); he also demonstrated advanced infield actions and moved with fluidity. At the plate, he has a solid foundation with fundamental hitting mechanics. Brodner ran a 7.4 60.
