Morgan displayed pop when he sent a solo shot deep out to left for the Sparks on Friday morning. Ultra-athletic frame with present strength, as well as room to fill out as he matures. Above average hand-speed allows Morgan to create impressive jump off the barrel, and it should only continue to tick up as he matures physically.
A 2022 Junior Future Games alum, Morgan had an impressive day at the plate for the Sparks. From the right side of the dish, the physically imposing hitter went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. A taller setup with a slightly open stance, the hands start up close to the head before loading back with the lower half and moving quick through the zone. Was on the barrel with an uphill path.
OF Josh Morgan (Fenwick) emerged as a high-follow in the class, showing well-above average tools across the board. Morgan has a 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame and opened eyes running a 6.67 laser-timed 60, the best of the event. He then proceeded to take a polished, strong round of BP, routinely barreling baseballs up the middle of the field, working on the barrel and to both gaps with authority. He also moved with a purpose in the outfield and showed a strong arm that topped at 85 mph. Morgan will be a name to follow closely as he starts working his way through high school.
Positional Profile: OF/1B
Body: 6-1, 175-pounds. Athletic build, well proportioned, room to fill out.
Hit: RHH. Slight croutch, open stance, small leg lift load. Strong hands with effortless power, on the barrel with authority up the middle.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 84.1 mph. 265’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 85 mph. Long arm action, high 3/4 slot and flashed a strong arm.
Defense: Athletic, active footwork, plays with rhythm, natural actions, sure-handed and gains ground through release.
Run: 6.67 runner in the 60.
Junior Futures Games: OF Joshua Morgan and C/1B Keegan Seipp went deep. Morgan hit a monstrous pull-side three-run home run that traveled 407 feet, according to the field's TrackMan unit.
3B Kaden Wasniewski went 2-for-3 with two singles. C Myles Broome went 2-for-3 with a triple and one RBI. CIF Elijah Lewis also went 2-for-3 with two singles and an RBI. CF Joshua Morgan hit two singles with two RBIs.
Morgan is physically advanced for his age and will continue to get stronger with age. Offensively, showed a very mature approach with a simple and efficient swing that stays through the zone very well. His advanced power for his age was something that was on display as he smoked a three-run homerun where he stayed through an inside fastball and took it over the center field fence. While patrolling the outfield he showed athletic actions and is a toolsy player that consistently put together a strong weekend for the Sparks.

Hit: RHH. Tall stance, slightly open front side. Smooth hand load. Bat speed. Compact, uphill path through the zone. Looks to lift. Middle of the field approach.
Power: 79.9 max exit velocity, averaged 71.5 mph. 274’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 78 mph. Strong/loose arm from a high 3/4 slot,some carry.
Defense: Two-hand gather out front, choppy feet.
Run: 6.98 runner in the 60.
Positional Profile: OF/1B
Body: 5-9, 155-pounds.
Defense: Outfield: active feet at times, sets up behind the baseball, fields with two hands. Infield: flashes natural first base actions, comfortable around the bag.
Arm: RH. INF - 64 mph. OF - 66 mph. Long arm action, high 3/4 arm slot.
Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, smooth load, short stride. Bat path works uphill, long through the zone, gap-to-gap approach, frequently used middle of field.
Power: 73 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Run: 7.59 runner in the 60.
