4.16.16 - Cornell recruit, currently ranked No. 98 in Illinois’ 2016 class. 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame with athletic build. Defensively, showed short athletic arm action from high-¾ slot. Ball carries well with little effort. Soft hands, confident defender. Made difficult backhand play in hole look easy. … Athletic in the box, loose hands, above-average bat speed, solid overall approach. Hit a line-drive two-run homer to left field and also walked twice, finished 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

3.19.16 - Cornell commit. 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. Added strength to his frame in the offseason. Defensively has fluid, athletic actions with soft hands. Accurate throws with carry across the infield. At the plate was robbed of a game tying home run in his final at bat.
9.17.15 - Verbally committed to Cornell University.
6/18/15 - 6-foot-1, 175-pound, right-handed hitting shortstop with an athletic frame. Currently ranked No. 99 in the Illinois Class of 2016. Defensively has a short, loose arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Accurate throws with carry. Soft hands with a quick, clean exchange. Easy, fluid actions. Athletic fielder who plays thru the ball. Took one of the best defensive rounds of the event. Threw 84 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a balanced, slightly open stance with a short stride. Up the middle approach with fluid rhythm. Lind drive hitter with a level swing path and extension. Showed strength thru contact with 91 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.22.

2.15.15 - 6-foot, 170-pound lanky and athletic right-handed hitting SS impressed with arm strength across the diamond, throwing 85 mph from shortstop from a loose, high ¾ arm slot with carry and accuracy. Soft hands fielding the baseball out front, stays deep, needs to attack the baseball more, taps glove after fielding before throws. At the plate, hits from a balanced setup, high back elbow setup, hands load smoothly, short stride, long, uphill bat path, solid up the middle approach during batting practice, 86 mph exit velocity off the tee. Ran a 7.13 60 yard dash.
6/12/14 - 6-foot, 160-pound lean two-way player impressed more on the mound with downhill plan from an over-the-top arm action.  Repeats delivery with slow tempo and short stride staying on top of the baseball pounding fastball in lower half of the strike zone.  Fastball sat 78-79 mph with some sink.  Curveball showed some 12/6 action, but lacked power varying between 63-69 mph.  Changeup was thrown consistently down in the zone, not for strikes, at 69-71 mph.  Offensively, Collins hits from an athletic open stance with a long stride, and level gap-to-gap line-drive swing producing 78 mph exit velocity.  Defensively showed average hands, and good carry on throws across the diamond at 74 mph.

2/17/14 - 5-foot-11, 155-pound athletic two way player. On the infield he shows athletic movements, solid hands, quick feet, and clean exchanges. Arm works loose from high ¾ slot at 74 mph with some accuracy. Ran a 7.58 60. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance, short stride, solid balance through contact. Swing has fluid rhythm, level path, and solid bat speed. Exit velocity off the tee was 76 mph. On the mound he uses regular effort in his delivery. Arm works long and stiff from a high ¾ slot. Fastball flashed solid run, sitting 77-79 mph, touching 81 mph once. Curveball has 11/5 shape with rolling action, sitting 61-65 mph. Changeup was 58-63 mph with run and sink actions occasionally.
