5/15/22

Although a Friday night starter's role was imagined for Prosecky when he entered Louisville in the fall of 2019, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound left-hander has emerged as their closer with nine saves and a 3.21 ERA this spring. He made just one appearance this weekend, during Sunday's finale, and threw 37 pitches in 1.2 innings of relief. With average life his fastball peaked at 95 and mostly sat on 93. He located the pitch with above average command. His 73-77 mph curveball showed above average depth and late 1/7 break while spinning into the low-2600s. His firm 84-86 changeup was thrown with fastball arm speed and induced one swing/miss in seven offerings. Overall, Prosecky executed his pitches well and showed the ability to sequence. With a durable body type, smooth delivery and three usable pitches, Prosecky is a likely candidate to convert from college reliever to professional starter if he is able to improve his control (17 BB in 28 IP this spring).

4/17/19

Louisville commit. 6-foot-4, 200-pound, left-handed draft prospect, long upside frame with tons of athleticism in actions. Pitches with tempo, gets the ball and goes, repeats delivery, super easy effort, seemingly more in the tank. Competitor on the bump, finished with a line: 5 IP, 8 H (1 XBH), ER, 5 K, 0 BB (63 of 89 for strikes). Sets up on 3rd base side of the rubber, strides in-line to home, lands square, controls body through release, still head. Arm action is clean with some length on back side, loose throughout and gets extension out front, high ¾ slot, maintains arm speed on all offerings, creates deception, jumps on hitters. Fastball command is plus, both sides of the plate, elevates and paints at the knees, slight 2-seam run, occasional cut, comes out easy and finished through the zone, 88-91 mph, touched 92 mph twice, maintained velo. Plus feel for changeup, used in any count to any hitter, vertical depth, seemed to purposely fade and cut it, swing and miss action starts with arm speed, present command of the plate, 78-81 mph. Slider used sparingly, tight wrinkle on 2/8 plane, 81-82 mph. Must watch come draft time.

4/06/19

Louisville commit, currently ranked No. 2 in the Illinois’ 2019 class and No. 81 overall. 6-foot-4, 200-pound, wide-shouldered, strong, durable-frame, left-handed pitcher. One of the top draft prospects in the state. Started on Saturday against Kenwood. Simple, repeatable delivery, minimal wasted movement. Arm works loose, clean and extremely easy from a ¾ slot. Works fast, attacks hitters and featured a three-pitch mix throughout. Fastball, comes out of the hand clean and easy, finishes through the zone, works mostly straight and to both sides of the plate, sat 88-91 mph throughout, touching 92. Slider, comes out of same window, inconsistent shape and action, short wrinkle, average feel, 78-81 mph. Only showed a few changeups, located to the arm side, down in the zone, slight run, 82-84 mph. Highly-projectable, left-handed arm with plenty of more in the tank. Final Line: 4.2 IP, H, 0 R, 11 K, 3 BB.

4/30/18

Louisville commit. 6-foot-3, 180-pound left-handed pitcher, plus frame, long and athletic. Delivery is easy and shows ability to repeat. Arm action is loose and easy, high ¾ slot, long clean arm action. Fastball showed command at the knees, life through the zone, arm side action, sat 86-88 mph. Slider had 2/8 action, hard late action, tough to pick up, 74-78 mph, swing and miss offering. Induced weak ground ball contact and several swing and misses (4 K’s) in 2.2 innings pitched out of the pen. High leverage situations, showed a high level of competitiveness on the mound.

3/29/17

Louisville commit. Currently ranked No. 16 in the 2019 Illinois class. 6-foot-3, 180-pound, projectable, athletically built left-handed pitcher. Started on the mound for Nazareth. Loose, clean arm action from a high ¾ window. Repeatable delivery, maintains rhythm throughout, low effort in delivery, looks like he is playing catch. Fastball works mostly straight, occasional arm-side action, sat 80-81 mph, touching 82 a few times. Curveball plays at 64-66 mph, 1/7 shape, average feel. Highly projectable left-handed arm in the 2019 class

10.17.16 - Verbally committed to the University of Louisville.
