1st Team All State: The ace of the Class 4A runner-up Caravan, Munoz went a perfect 14-0, with a 2.12 ERA, 92 strikeouts in 82.2 innings, only allowing 62 hits and 22 walks. The senior right-hander heading to Grambling State next fall worked six innings in the state title game, leaving in line for the win in Mount Carmel’s extra-inning 6-5 loss to Providence. Munoz showed his grit pitching in five of Mount Carmel’s seven playoff games, earning a save with two scoreless innings in a semifinal win over Jacobs. Munoz was also named the Chicago Catholic League All-Conference squad, and was tabbed the Daily Southtown Player of the Year.

4.27.15 - 6-foot, 205-pound, right-handed pitcher. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long, loose, whippy arm action. Slow paced delivery with level shoulders and a slight crossfire. Spins off to first base side. Fastball sat 83-85 topping out at 86 mph in the first inning, settled in at 81-83 mph. Curveball showed 11-5 shape at 67-69 mph with some depth with occasional sweeping action. Throws strikes and attacks hitters.  Worked 5 innings allowing just 3 hits and striking out 4. Grambling State commit, currently ranked No. 147 in the Illinois Class of 2015.
