6/18/15 - Extra-long frame, 6-foot-9, 215-pound left-handed pitcher, long limbed, gangly, slender build. Delivery has some effort, works with direction. Loose arm action, ¾ slot. Fastball flashed run and sink, 82-84 mph. Sweeping curveball at 59-64 mph, tends to get around it. Changeup sinks, 68-72 mph.
2.15.15 - 6-foot-9, 215-pound extremely lanky left-handed pitcher works from a long, loose, high ¾ arm slot, toe up at balance point, tall/fall delivery, shoulders level throughout delivery, works in line towards home plate. Fastball sat 79-81 mph for strikes. Curveball had 2/8, slurve shape, missed wide at times, 62-64 mph. Showed good feel for 72-74 mph changeup, thrown down in the zone, displays arm side run. Hankins is a prospect to follow in the 2016 class, currently ranked No. 99 in the state and he keeps improving.
10.19.14 - 6-foot-9, 210-pound extremely long levered and lanky left-handed pitcher currently ranked No. 79 in Illinois’ 2016 class; works from a long, loose, slinging ¾ arm slot, tall-and-fall type delivery, level shoulders throughout, stride direction works online, lands square. Fastball sat 77-79 mph with running action. Slow, sweeping breaking ball with 2/8 shape was thrown for strikes with lateral break at 60-63 mph. Slowed arm slightly on 71-72 mph changeup with occasional cutting action.
7.23.14 6-foot-8, 195-pound lanky left-handed pitcher, extremely long levers, but repeats delivery for size. Threw 79-81 mph from short, loose, ¾ arm slot. Utilizes tall and fall, uptempo delivery, rushing at times, shoulders stays level throughout, lands slightly closed on front foot. 61-63 mph curveball showed 11/5 shape, dropping arm angle at times. 71-73 mph changeup showed cutting action. Hankins is an interesting prospect due to his extreme height, left-handedness, and ability to throw strikes. He’s a prospect to follow closely the next two years.
1.19.14 - Extremely large frame, long limbs, lanky, slender build. 6-foot-8, 190-pound left handed pitcher, highly projectable frame. Delivery shows above average athleticism and coordination for size. Arm played long and loose, again with advanced athleticism and coordination. Works from a ¾ slot with little effort. Fastball featured sink with occasional run, found the zone regularly at 75-77 mph. Breaking ball flashed occasional sweep, tends to get underneath, creates side spin, 63-66 mph, arm slot suggest to be a slider guy. Throws straight changeup, showed well above average feel, flashed arm side action, showed control at 72-73 mph.
