Committed to Villanova University ... After patiently waiting his turn, Radtke established himself as one of the most effective right-handers in the class. As the No. 2 starter behind All-Stater Kyle Ruchim, the long and athletic Radtke posted a 9-1 record last spring his only loss coming against Class 4A state champion Naperville Central in the state semifinals. Behind an 86-89 mph fastball, a 12-6 curveball and a fading changeup, he tallied 66 strikeouts and walked 15 in 50 innings with a 1.68 ERA for the No. 3-ranked Patriots. ... At 6-foot-4, 195 pounds, Radtke is an athletically built right-handed pitcher with a fast, live arm and a lot of upside. His fastball registered between 85-86 mph, while his 72-76 mph 12-to-6 curveball has sharp bite. He also commands a 76 mph changeup with late fade. Once Radtke gains more polish, theres no telling how good he can be...Athletic frame with a loose quick arm and good size. Has potential to be one of the class's best power arms. Has good power potential at the plate, too. ... Played varsity football as sophomore as well. ... With a lean, athletic frame and a quick arm, the 6-foot-4, 195-pound Radtke (right)showed that he is one of the premier right-handed prospects in the class. Radtkes arm speed is such that theres little doubt he has a lot more in the tank than the 86-87 mph fastball he showed. He also displayed a power 12-to-6 breaking ball and a 73-75 mph changeup that very well may be his best pitch.
