4.26.17 - Committed to Memphis. Stocky strong body with sloped shoulders and a strong muscular lower half, physically mature. Plays with energy and urgency. Quick actions at shortstop, shows range up the middle and has sure soft hands and good footwork. Quick release with short arm action and makes accurate throws with carry to them. Even crouched stance with high hands at the plate. Stays balanced, loads his hand and head stays still, short swing. Aggressive base runner and takes the extra base when it is there. Went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two singles.

5.16.16 - Memphis commit. Currently ranked No. 48 in the Illinois Class of 2017. 6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed hitting shortstop with a strong, athletic frame. High energy player. Offensively hits from a tall, balanced setup. Short swing path with a quick bat. Showed ability to consistently find the barrel. Two run double in game, 4.68 on the turn. Solid defensively with good range in the field.

4.20.15 - Currently ranked No. 16 in Illinois’ 2017 class, starting SS on varsity since his freshman year. Solidly built 6-foot, 175-pounder went 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBI. His two-run single to left field staked the North Stars to an early 2-0 advantage in the second inning.

9.19.14 - St. Charles North starting varsity shortstop as a freshman, impresses with smooth fielding actions and athletic 6-foot, 175-pound frame. Currently ranked No. 10 in Illinois’ 2017 class. Throws 76 mph across the infield with plus shortstop actions fielding through the baseball. Impresses with balanced approach, line drives to all fields during batting practice, consistent feel for barrel, advanced bat speed.
4/17/14 - One of the more impressive 2017 prospects we’ve seen thus far. Starting shortstop on varsity as a freshman. And rightfully so. Plays with the moxie of a senior. Easy, natural middle infield actions; fields the ball with rhythm, and shows advanced glovework. Ball has carry and accuracy. No height/weight on roster, but has solid frame, certainly doesn’t look like a freshman in high school. Offensively, hits with a balanced setup, relaxed approach. In his first at-bat, ripped a run-scoring single, one of the team’s three hits in the game against Nutof. Also had a solid flyout to right field.  Mettetal is likely a name you will be hearing about for the next four years.
