2017 Spring Scout Blog:  Purdue commit. 5-foot-11, 165 pound RHP picked up an impressive CG victory striking out 14 and allowing just four hits without any free passes. Pitches with a high motor and considerable intensity. Ball jumps out of a high 3/4 slot. Two pitch command. Started most hitters off with an 11/5 power curveball ball at 76-81 and thrown with fastball arm speed. Flashed a handful of very sharp/late breaking balls. Very confident in the pitch. Was down 3-0 in the middle of the lineup and threw three straight to record a strikeout. Fastball saw some increased velocity since we saw him last summer. The former Future Games participant held 86-88 through seven innings touching 90 and 91 a few times in the first and once in the final frame. Hard, riding fastball was in and up to RHH. Pitches with effort in the delivery, but was around the plate the entire night. Good tempo, repeatable delivery, and athletic finish. Did not seem to tire late in the game showing good stamina for the size.

8/6/16 FUTURE GAMES: A high-waisted 5-foot-11 165 pounds with a short quick arm had a fastball that ranged from 86-87 mph. With a simple and repeatable delivery he threw strikes and worked down in the zone with some late life. The curveball ranged from 71-74 mph with tight spin from the same slot as the fastball and depth.

4/21/16 GAME NOTES: Rudy, a 5-foot-11 165 pound RHP from New Albany, struck out six and walked two in 6+ innings of work against rivals Jeffersonville under the lights. The sophomore has a potentially electric arm, but had command issues most of the evening. Fastball was 84-88 touching 89 twice. When elevated the pitch flattened out and was hit hard. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape and sits 73-75. Sharp at times and could develop into an advanced level pitch, but was erratic and not thrown often. Good rhythm and shorter extension. Throws from a 3/4 slot. Good potential and interesting follow.
